Are you trying to get into WordPress or your hosting?
For your hosting info at hostgator, to log in go to http://yourwebsite.com:2083 to bring up CPanel's login page. From there, there is a reset password option. You'll need your billing login. If you search your email, you make find an email with the subject "HostGator.com :: Your Account Info". This should have your login information for both the billing and for CPanel.
If it's WordPress, go to http://yourwebsite.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword and enter your email. If that fails, you can recover your login by following these steps here http://digwp.com/2009/10/five-ways-to-change-your-wordpress-password/
Suggest you go thru your emails to find the access links. Once you are there, try to reset the password using the "forgot password" link. Usually they also have a "forgot username" link too. If all these fail, then, as others have suggested, contact the support team.
Have you tried the password recovery method? Usually, the 'Forgot my password' link gets you all the help you'll need to recover your account's password, provided the email address the reset link will be sent to is still accessible to you.
To access your website you will need to get contact the company who is hosting your website. They will take you through security questions and provide the information you require.
Where is your website hosted? The service provider must be able to give your the information after verifying your true identity and ownership.
Best thing you can do is to contact the support team of your hosting service and retrieve the login details.
you need to consult your hosting service provider first. They have access to change the password or they can even get it for you. If that doesnt work then you have to stop using their hosting services from next year.
Another way is to check your mailbox because once hosting is set up, hosting guys sent email with username and password to login to your cpanel.
Let me know my answer helps you or not.
Contact your web hosting provider, they should be able to assist
I'm not quit sure bout the query but whether your locked down in your CMS, unable to access your cPanel or otherwise the least you could do is to email Support of your host. Good luck!
The people you paid your money too will help you. They may have to reset your account information and provide you a new password
When I needed help getting into Joomla or WordPress I hired someone from Fiverr.com to reset the password. Not a bad deal since some folks on Craigslist and Elance wanted closer to $50 for the same thing.
Though if it's your hosts control panel (CPanel) go through your provider. I use 3ix.com and get it resolved usually by next day. They've been awesome.
Have you tried contacting the vendor or hosting company, or the person/firm that built the site?
First stop is your hosting provider, but if that does not work, you can find talent on eLance who can help you. It's not terribly difficult to hack Wordpress if you can log in to your hosting account.
As people have said here. Call support and reset the administration password. If you are talking about WordPress they may help you with that. You should be able to send out a lost password from WordPress to your own email.
I help my clients create a Login System that greatly helps them remember username and passwords. We have way too much to remember.
Everyone needs to have a system that lists every login.
You said you need to get into own website ? What does that mean ?
Have you forgotten the link and Username/Password of your CMS admin panel ?
Or you have forgotten the Username/password of your cpanel ?
Both can be obtained no need to worry, but you need to ellaborate more as what CMS framework you are using ?
Or for C-panel you can call your Hosting provider and they will issue you new username and password by verifying your identity.
