Where do I begin to start my own pizza business?
I know of great pizza in the U.S. and now that I am back in China, I want to apply the same concept, atmosphere, etc. to a pizza shop here. How do I get started on such a venture? I've looked into franchising a U.S. pizza shop but have not seen any interest. What else can I do? Thanks.

Start by reading and dissecting great industry information available in PMS Pizza, Pizza Today and QSR Magazine. These trade publications can give you a lot of crucial information for succeeding in this business.
Like the others have said develop a business plan for your business. But most critical is scouting your competitors in the area in which you want to set up shop and ascertain what target audience is.
Find a good location, write your business plan and financial plan using a dedicated restaurant business plan program such as PlanMagic Restaurant. Ensure good quality of pizza baking (not so easy really!), and open your first pizzeria. Take it from there.
Check out an existing pizza shop owner in China. If you like and trust him or her, it may be a good idea to try to work together.
First select the location and see which class of people live in that area it is costly item, than find exect place place should be visible at 1000 people watch your sign board ,than give full concentration to quality of product hire good staff, and than advertise in a good manner that people at least visit onces and if you presenting good quality with good price you get success
A restaurant is all about the quality of the food you serve and the ambience you choose to create. Successful restaurants have something unique about them- in your case, a genuine wood fired over would give you authenticity of being the 'real' italian style pizzas- an immediate point of difference to a pizza hut style restaurant. Couple it with authentic wine from Italy and authentic italian desserts and you have a winning recipe!
Hire the expertise in - get good chefs - good serving stuff and find the right oven that gives you your point of difference!
Hello - continue seeking out franchising opportunities as brand equity will already be created and you can begin earning profits immediately. However, if no pizza chain is willing to franchise their business to you in China, then you can begin by finding a location and starting your operation from scratch with your own original brand name. This will take longer to gain market share of the local pizza demand, but it is possible. Make sure to be in communication with the Chinese government to remain in compliance with their rules and regulations. Good luck.
Pizza is a great business - Start from scratch it's better value than franchise models that don't currently exist in Asia and will produce greater profits in the long run.
There are some great check lists out there for Pizza and sandwich models that will help you get started. You may also look to recruit in and around the expat community - there are several skilled pizza shop SME's that came over with their parents and/or spouses.
When in Rome as like Romans...first of all you have to be well aware of the marketing you will be working with, as well of the interest that might pinch the hit of your new project.
It is necessarry to do a quick or deep, depend on your sources, marketing research to know which area is the one you will have more opportunity to work with.
You might start by asking your friends, relatives or including neighbors abour their likes and dislikes regarding pizza. Visit the places already settled to know their target and products and locations of them.
Best wishes on your adventure!
To create your own franchise, you need to successfully operate 6 shops of your own. The average cost to setup the franchise in Australia is $100k.
Experience and research are key prior to venturing into this area.
The business plan as suggested by Sandra will assist. The economics of the pizza business will differ greatly from U.S. to China. Look at McDonalds for a comparison of how a franchise brands with altered product to suit each target country.
Consider these two:

Provided there are manufacturers of the ingredients you need that can drop ship to you locally, you could realistically start your own chain. Look at the CiCi's pizza buffet model to see how they got started.
Create a business plan, the canvas business model is very easy to understand, google it and make a good effort to complete all your plan. If you plan ahead, you have more chances to create a good business, with no flaws. And find a good partner. Don't go in any business alone, you need a good partner otherwise is very hard to have success.
Thank you very muh Sandra, the Canvas business model I googled, it is very good one for me to use later, but I think I still need time to digest if I really want to use it.
