I'm opening my own business that will cater to different areas of home improvement and/or maintenance. To start, I've been advertising on social media. How do I get my business recognized quickly?
There are already some good answers for you, but I wanted to go a bit deeper and detailed for you.
As far as posting. Post pictures of work you've done (that may be obvious) but explain WHERE you did the work and some details that make you stand out from your competitors. Being a woman based business is one of them.
Also, post pictures of yourself working and your team. Making yourself personal, creates trust quicker.
Use hashtags on Instagram. You are allowed 30. Research them! For example, #homeimprovementNJ #maintenance4women (I just made those up to give you an idea). In Instagram, you can enter an idea in the search and see what comes up. Use hashtags for your area (city and state), and however far you travel.
Follow accounts that are in your area.
In your bio, ALWAYS put your location and contact info.
Also, you can run campaigns, with coupons or "10% off work in October".
The last thing is posting videos. Use your phone, a quick 20-second video of how you fix something or a before and after is always good. You love what you do and proud of your work. Let it show!!!
Make sure you are listed in Yelp and Google My Business.
