Is Robotic Process Automation (RPA) same as Test Automation tool?
I know test automation is a process of automating the testing procedures using a code or software tool. For some cases RPA tool can be used as an automation tool (Ex: End-to-end functionality), so RPA & Test Automation tools are same?
It's obvious that people may doubt since both the term has automation in it. Both processes offer the same feature of reducing manual labor. But, these two are different.
Basically, Robotic Process Automation is a software/framework that can mimic human actions. It employs pre-defined activities and business frameworks to autonomously execute a combination of tasks. RPA facilitates the delivery of the desired result without human intervention.
Whereas, Test Automation is a method used by many enterprises across the globe that makes use of tools to control the execution of tests. The tool also compares the actual results with the foretold ones. The action is performed automatically with little or no human interaction.
Enterprises across the globe, which focus on technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, Cloud service models, and the internet of things make use of both the tools to ease out the work and to gain efficiency.
