What should be my first steps after launching a website?
I am planning to launch a website to promote some kind of service. I want to know that my next step should be: to make people aware about the website and drive traffic there, or convince them to register with us without going to the website?
Thanks.
After you launch your website then get out there and drive traffic to it with creating social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, youtube videos, google my business) and then take a relook at your website...do you answer all your customer's questions? Is it easy to read content and clear about your services? Are you able to provide pictures that are tagged on your website? Do you have keywords for your website and ensure they are written into your content? Have you included a service map? Have you looked at the keywords your competitors are ranking for and ensure you have included them...are they offering services you offer too but didn't include on your website? Do you have contact information?
Lastly, have you submitted your website to other trade-related sites to ensure to list your website for more visibility?

Using a website as a portal to facilitate registrations is smart. That information can then be stored immediately in your customer database for follow-up and drip marketing. There are two sources of website traffic: a)organic and b)paid. Depending upon your budget and growth goals a traffic plan can be developed. Always happy to chat if you need. Best,
Fine, the first thing you should finalize basic keywords which are relevant to your product / service / concept. Having website is not a deal. Because what great information can you provide, if you don’t know how to increase Search Engine Visibility of Your Website? World Statistics illustrate that the majority Search Engine Visitors do not go beyond the First Page of Search engines; some still looks only for first top 5 results. Imagine, what if your website to be on top Search Engine Ranking for competitive keywords in an alcove a good number businesses would vision of?
So you will know how many URLs are required for your website. Optimize all your URLs by the help of some best SEO Expert (refer my web URL http://seo-expertz.com/top-best-seo-company-in-bangalore-seo-company.html). Next important Technic is Off Page SEO (Backlinking, SMM and etc.) which will be done with the help of SEO Specialists or Link Builders.

Traffic (customers/ clients) You need to learn how to drive them to your website.
If no one can find your web address you won't do much business.
Go to YouTube.com, access videos on driving traffic or Google the subject' I t really isn't that hard to do, but it takes some time to do it correctly. High quality content on your website will help your search engine rating as well.
Find a tutor, the processes aren't that hard.
Hi Pooja,
After you make your website live. try to get exposure for it. Don't be in a hurry to grab users to force them to register. Keep in mind " Slow and steady win the race " . So first make your site popular among for their category. Do promotional activities and make your presence in social medias. try to bring your website on top in the SERP. It may take a long time but gives you good results. Avoid over doing of your work which tends to end in spam. Target the local audience first, then start focusing on other locations.
The best option if you want to launch a website and want to make online presence of your website just do SEO/SMO of your website you also can go through with Google Adwords.
And before developing /designing of your website develop your website thorough SEO techniques like Header t, proper Alt tag for images and configuration of website through Webmaster and analytics .
Hi, Your next step should be the email marketing. You need to create a emailshot or newsletter to promote the website. The content should be precise and layout should be eye catching.
My first suggestion would be to go ahead and put a launch page up over your website, to start collecting leads. Include an opt-in offer, such as an ebook or checklist, and also make sure to say that they will be on your VIP list to know when your website officially launches.
The second piece then, is as you suggested, to launch a service at a "special" rate, and offer it to your list.
But, while your site is being built, definitely promote traffic to your opt-in offer.
Assuming that your service and content is aligned with your consumer's needs in a compelling way...which is no small hurdle...then you should have a general sense of where your A-list, primary target audience would most likely be. Many people suggest social media, and that may be the case. However, you really should do your research and come up with your own hypothesis. Maybe instead of shooting in the dark into the vast space of social media, perhaps it's a matter of finding a strategic partner in which your service complements theirs to help get the word out. Like people selling peanut butter would connect with people who sells bread or jelly. I know...it's a silly example, but you get the idea as everyone benefits. Then you build that email list in which you can contact them throughout the life cycle of your service. Sounds like we all agree, a website is simply a destination, so at what point in your audience's online journey can you make an impact and stand out?
Hello Pooja, the most important thing you can do is to tell your story and get people interested in what you have to sell or offer. One of the best ways to do this is to seek out people who probably have the need for what you have. Visit social sites and blogs and try to make some connections.
Secondly, if we have the budget, you can startt a promotional campaign to get peoples interest. "Register to win a free iPad just by visiting our promo page" Then you can collect email addresses (with the visitors permission - send out even more info and links to your site and new products. Be careful of game rules - they can be tricky depending on the countries you allow to enter.
Good luck!
If you have a genuine website solving a true problem, this would be my 5 suggestions.
1. Tell people you already know! It does not matter as much, if these people purchase/sign-up. It is important that they talk about you to other friends. Even better when to friends tell the same person on separate occasion.
2. Keep it updated with small changes.
3. Hopefully you have done some pre-launch marketing/promoting. Yes that is my step number Three. Utilize heavily the people who cared before you set the site to go live. Even if you have 6-7 fully interested people.
4. Hire or learn how to use google analytic to enhance your growth by determining who your real target market is and what they really care about from you and everything else in life.
5.Last but of course not least! Market! Market! Market! If and only if the analytic numbers show you to do so.
Also. Take this article by Bill Gates that you can find in on TiorMedia's Linkd in page.
Bill Gates on the Importance of Measurement is vital information for the 2014 business owner looking to be more success in 2015
- Publish your site in a facebook page, google + and twitter.
- Paid promotion with adwords or facebook
- Investigate about positioning in google search
Ahhh...
I'm glad you ask this before you launch the website Pooja.
The key to success o the web is actually doing the proper research and analysis PRIOR to launch. If you have not assessed the potential market and tailored the site ideally for the Search Engines AND for human visitors, then it is better to wait until that is correctly done--or not launch based upon that particular idea at all.
Once you are confident and actually do launch, I'd say to continue adding quality content to the site. Then continue active discussions on social media sites as you have already started. Any additional print/online/social marketing you do will serve to increase traffic to the site. It takes work and some time. But consistency and quality first are key!
This depends on what services you offer and your targeted customers.
Your question is "to make people aware about the website and drive traffic there, or convince them to register with us without going to the website?
If you are launching a website, let people know about your services and get customers. I think, you dont need to build a website if you want to convince them to register with you without going to the website? ... maybe I misunderstood this... I am interested on this topic since I recently launched a dating site and looking assistance to make a digital marketing strategy .... I liked Tim's reply ...
Hi Pooja,
On -page optimization
Submit your URL to all the major search engines
Social Media Management
Press Releases
Heavy blog content engagement
Off-page SEO
Monitor you Google Analytics (see what's working)
Depending on your product /online ads
REPEAT!
This was a quick and dirty list, but if you research them further you'll get the fine details. Good luck!
Social media is a great place to do customer research and conscientiously plug your site. Join industry groups on LinkedIn or popular blogs and offer links to your site or helpful blogs of your own. The key to social is ensuring the advice you're giving is truly useful and honest.
Use Social Media. Social media is a great way to promote inbound traffic from other sources outside your site. Use Facebook & Twitter for announcements, product enhancements etc,. If you are selling physical products Pinterest is a great tool for showcasing them. Lastly promote your site networking within LinkedIn.
This is a basic step, but you will also want to make sure that your site is verified with Bing, Yahoo and Google. You can find easy-to-follow instructions on YouTube. Before going to YouTube, however, make sure your site contains a site map. Good luck!
