Does anyone know where I can find a good basic business plan template I can use with investors?
I have a few investors that are looking to invest in my company. I need to prepare a business plan to share with them. Does anyone know where I can find a basic template that includes financial samples for 3 years of cash flow, sales revenue and ROI?
Here's a link to an Excel file. You can also google by using the keyword your are searching. If all are too complicated for you, hire an expert. Good luck.
Doron: I have never used a template for something as important as pitching investors. Obviously you can do a quick google search on business plan templates (https://www.google.com/search?q=free+business+plan+template+word&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8) but why not create something specifically tailored for the investors in question? If you want their money, I would think you would be willing to invest the time to create a customized investor presentation for them. The last pitch I did in Asia was developed in English (which is my native language) and then translated into Mandarin (the native language of the prospects) for the prospects. I found that even with "accurate translations" the written presentation was not nearly as clear to the recipients as the discussion that were held in person. I am assuming that language is not an issue in this case. I have found that most investors don't want a traditional business plan with proforma detailed numbers, they want a high level presentation (10 - 20 slides) that details the business, the opportunities/threats (taken from a SWOT analysis), high-level numbers and an explanation of the use of the funds (this seems to be the most important part to most investors). Then once they have bought in, depending on the situation, they will want to do a due diligence of your current books to validate that your current numbers are accurate - and that they can trust you.
