It is freeware/small donation based software that is a robust, fully functional online chat program that integrates well with web platforms (as compared to others). The only downside is the annoying email messages from the author imploring users to donate (even those who have already made a fair donation).

It is an intelligent system that not only provides a live chat support platform, but allows you to build a data base of questions and answers so you can avoid the old commonly asked Q&A approach. Plus over time as the data base grows it becomes more intelligent providing answers even when the question isn't exactly as asked previously. Even better its quite affordable and the developers are generally interested in your issues when you call with questions. One caveat. The developers are in Israel, so time zones impact their availability. other than that...good place to start. A number of larger E-commerce companies are starting to use them. My E-commerce firm researched a number of options about 2 years ago to replace the chat system we had. Came down to them in the end. PS: I would avoid outsourcing the answering of live chat whenever possible. personally Id rather do without...not as effective as people think.
