Can you recommend a good online system for self-signup volunteers?
I'm setting up a local event that requires 50-100 volunteers. I already have candidates. I'm looking for a free online system which allows me to create assignments. The volunteers would be notified and then able to sign themselves up for available slots. The system should be configured to send reminders - to minimize "no shows". Lastly, the system should allow for "broadcast" messages to all registered volunteers.
Sign-Up Genius. It's fantastic. Every school group I know uses it. It's free, but they also have a paid service, though I'm not sure what you get for paid. Easy to use, and it does send out reminders.
