How can I improve the traffic to my online gaming website?
I am running an online game website at https://www.gvgmall.com/ selling game cards and game currency products. In the past half-year, we have done on-site SEO optimization, Google ads, and some advertising promotion. Currently, the traffic is 700-800IP per day. How do I improve the traffic of the website?
As you have mentioned that you have already done with SEO and SEM so I hope that channel is working fine and I won't discuss that here.
I would recommend you to jump into a trending topic to get more interest of the audience. The gaming industry is too active on social media and gaming communities so you can drive traffic from there as well.
The other strategy is content marketing. I would personally suggest you spend more time on content marketing because this can help you drive traffic and backlinks to your website more than anything.
If you have any issue, in particular, do not hesitate to poke me.
Content marketing and link building will help you to grow traffic that stays for a long time on your blog. When you want to increase traffic, do not just think of fast ways but look for reliable and permanent methods to boost exposure. Also, work on the blog section of your site.
Follow the "Eagle eye concept for blogger and SEO" to help you create amazingly engaging content with real-time data. This will also help your site to rank higher in search results.
Create a digital marketing strategy and path... Like select a target keyword and audience and set up a local business listing with all your business information. Just some search engine optimization techniques.
But the more important thing is content marketing is for traffic improvement. Here are some points about content creation - make sure the topic is searchable, use trending keywords, and have a CTA. Add information that is educational, informational, and again, searchable.
Create interlinking by sharing links in your posts to your own blog!
Developing your marketing strategy. All come to and centers around it.
There are so many things you can do. Ever heard of SEO? Try working on that and specifically, "backlinking" and "trust sharing" do work on these 2 terms. This will help a lot. But it takes time, so keep that in mind. Moreover, go for digital marketing, social media campaigns, social bookmarking... be smart in running a campaign. By the way, you can use Facebook for this purpose too.
Alan’s suggestion for content marketing is certainly a good one - you should link this into your advertising campaigns too, to make both more effective. But he’s also right that it’s a long process.
I think you should still do some content marketing but there may be a way to supercharge it: you, or another suitable ambassador to your brand, could promote themselves as a ‘thought leader’ - an expert in their field who gets media attention. I talk about how to produce thought leadership on my blog here: https://dominicjeff.com/2018/02/20/solid-opinion-key-thought-leadership/
It could help you get a lot of high-quality free publicity, great backlinks, SEO, and give your business credentials a boost at the same time.
Content marketing. Your goal is to build organic traffic and convert that traffic into business. It's a slow process, but it's also an effective one. Hubspot, a massive name in the software world, has a successful track record with converting traffic into business. You are not a massive business, so that means you have to target long tail keywords, to increase your chances of receiving organic traffic from search engines. Targeting long tail keywords means you optimize your site and your content towards long search words like "game cards and currency website". It may not be very high volume, but your chances of showing up high on the search rankings for this specific search are better. Start slow and once you gain traction you can start building higher volume keyword targets.
