How do I start marketing to a niche target?
I need to create an extensive professional client database to sell authored books, resumes, job searches and job interviews. The ideal scenario is to address entire workshop groups interested in buying books or contracting my services. I don't know how to start marketing to this niche target, or how to prospect potential clients.
Have you clearly defined the Niche and know the Persona of this niche and where they "hang out"?
When you have that information the next step is put yourself in front of them in a favorable position. The best way is to OFFER something rather than ASKING for something in the beginning.
Does your website focus on YOUR abilities and talents and do you have some testimonies form satisfied clients?
First, identify your target market in a very laser-focused manner: Men? Women? Occupation? Geographic area?
Next, be very specific about the service/product you are offering to that "person." What is it?
Next, think about other types of businesses or professionals who also want that market to buy something from them. Who are they? Begin meeting with them. (I can help you on what you say and how you get the meeting with them, what your goal is in that meeting, etc.) This group will be one channel to market for you.
Finally, get inside the head of the target. Who do they hang out with? What do they read? Where do they eat or recreate? What associations do they belong to? These are other channels to market. You can effectively work these channels and get to your target market while spending little to no marketing dollars.
I'm happy to go into more specifics if you want to get in touch.
Best to you,
