To buy likes or not to buy likes?
It's been suggested to me to buy likes on Facebook, YouTube, and followers on Twitter before I start advertising my new small business. How does this work and is it a good idea?
I am personally against it on ethical grounds but if that is no issue to you it can help a little.
What is usually implies is that a "company" has several dummy accounts on various social media platforms and you can pay them to have all those thousands of fake followers and likes. Those empty likes can make you look a little more impressive to potential real followers.
No. There are so many major directories out there as well as ones related to your business. What they mean by buying likes is to boost a post so more people can see it. In all probability, you would be wasting your money trying to get likes for people not interested at all in what you do. Being listed on major directories, directories related and targeted to your business, and good SEO will help you more than boosting likes. Do you have a web site yet? When you get one, let me know.
