The last e-commerce site I built was on Magento. It was very powerful. I haven't had an opportunity to build one recently but want to give something a try.
Its a site called ecwid.com. You build your product catalog there and it basically gives you a website to start selling from. But then you can easily send all of those products to some of the major shopping sites like Amazon, Facebook, eBay, etc. And you can also import those products into a WordPress site.
The concept is great and I am itching to do it for someone. Lol. If I had to build an e-commerce site, I would start there!
