What skills can you learn by yourself that can potentially be turned into a business?
What are the skills that can you learn by yourself that can potentially be turned into a business? Any suggestion? Can anyone share your experience related to this?
Each successful idea is pretty easy. I think good imagination is the key element. I immigrated to USA from Germany with the American dream and to tell the truth, it was pretty difficult for me to accommodate to the new culture and mentality. I spent a lot of time in the search of the thing that will bring me joy and now I am a freelancer and can express myself though writing. That is why I launched this project https://writingbros.com/essay-examples/american-dream/ where I am able to bring use to others, especially students. Therefore, I can state that the main thing is to search. Find what you love, and then follow that scheme "Do what you love, love what you do" :)
A lot of businesses tend to fail probably around 20% to 50% in the first 5 years depending on which metrics you're using for which country.
That means being a very frugal person can be helpful in terms of managing finances for your business as well as your daily life.
Translating this skill and making it applicable for your business:
- Find quality but reduce costs where possible in your products/services
- Figure out different financing options and shop around to get the best rates if you're using loans
- Do monthly check-ups to see if you can "trim the fat" on costs
I agree with Keith, who said that you could transform any skill into a business. For instance, I used to have location-based marketing. However, today, I'm a blogger and freelance writer. How did it happen? At one point in my life, I realized that I love to write. I would pick a topic and develop it into a full article. And when people listen as I read it to them, they'd be like wow! You wrote that. Cut the story short. Today I'm a full-time blogger making a living from writing.
Therefore, determine what you love to do, be good at it, and offer it as a service.
I believe every skill can be turned into a business if you can achieve it to that level. Besides, you need to good at planning and implementation. Some people are good at the skill and some are good at planning. You have to have both in you first if you are thinking of building a business on your own. Otherwise, skill alone will not be able to bring you success.
Now let's talk about skills that can potentially be turned into a business. We're going through a digital era and surrounded by technology in every aspect of our life. So, skills that are capable of serving people digitally can be awesome to have and potentially viable to be turned into a business.
Web development, mobile app development, graphics design, digital marketing, forex trading, etc. These are some of the skills that have the top potential to bring you out with success. These skills can also be turned into a business if you can plan and implement that in the right way.
In this day and age, there is such easy access to the great knowledge that it really depends on what you want to do and the amount of time you are willing to devote to it. Any craft-based hobby can be turned into a business for example knitted or handmade wooden items can be sold at markets or in a shop without much hassle. If you want to learn there are plenty of videos on the internet or books from which you can teach yourself. To truly be good at something however it will be best to speak to others in the same industry to learn from their knowledge and wisdom.
It depends on what you want to be in the future. And after a few years where you reach or find success in life.
In today's world, which is tagged the age of the mind (psychozoic age), it is relatively easier to earn any skill that can become a big income earner. There are plethoral numbers of skills that are easily learnable and then become sellable. Some of these skills are:
1. Learning foreign languages and then becoming a tutor or an interpreter in the chosen learned language.
2. Learning to become a professional graphics designer like in 3D animation, etc.
3. Learning the art of bookkeeping and then helping small businesses to organize their business records.
4. Learning how to repair phones. This is a big money earner. And it takes just a few months to become an expert in this skill.
I hope these few points will help you to start your own business soon!
I’m the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of TekRevol, a California-based digital agency that provides disruptive tech solutions to entrepreneurs, startups, and enterprises.
I personally believe that skill-building comes along with experience and a continuous passion for learning. Some of the skills that you can learn online and implement in your work life are digitalized ones – graphic designing, SEO, web and app development, and social media marketing, for instance. Each of these skills can be converted into a service or business and capitalized on, eventually.
Being a tech enthusiast, I keep myself updated with daily technological advancements and I find that this helps me in reaching my desired goals and outcomes.
Hope this helps!
