I recently wrote a blog on this subject, feel free to check it - http://askbhavik.com/top-tech-trends-of-2019-as-shared-over-forbes/
However just to summarize, 2019 for mobile is going to be not very different than our previous year, with slight sprinkle over subjects like - AI, ML and Immersive Media; unless you work for some core tech-oriented clients like Amazon, Boston Dynamics, eBay or Uber you will probably experience the same old mobile app needs coming your way.
We need to consciously also consider user adaption rates, hardware (mobile phone) adaption rates - which greatly differs based on geography and hence even if we have some advance mobile tech in place, 2019 may be is a too immediate year to think about disruption.
I've just read a great article about app development trends 2019 here - could be useful: https://magora-systems.com/10-software-development-trends-to-become-market-leader-2019/.
So surprise when receiving this question from mobile app development expert (jk).
But anyway, I've run Saigon Technology, also a web and app development company for 7 years, so I could be in good position to answer it.
I believe ML, AI, VR will take important parts in the app development industry.
The progressive web app also should be counted.
For SMEs, low-cost app development platforms could be a good solution for saving cost and quick turnaround.
Hope that helps.
