What do I need to know before starting my photography web portfolio?
I want to start my photography blog - it will be like a web portfolio with some blogging content as well.
Where can I find some examples of other portfolio websites? Which websites are the best for publishing blogs with a lot of visual content? If you are also a photographer or visual content creator, do you have any tips that could be helpful for someone starting out?
Thank you everyone in advance.
You can try several major platforms like WordPress, squarespace, weebly and Pixpa for building your portfolio website. Recently I have shifted to Pipxa and it has been great experience there.
Most important thing is in your portfolio is content as most of the clients demanding online portfolio, here some tips which can help you create impressive portfolio:
Showcase your best work: The central purpose of portfolio is to show your best work.
Choose minimal, clean website template: Your photography website should showcase high-quality images in an uncluttered, clean format.
Make your website mobile friendly: All most 56 percent of search are coming through mobile searches. With more and more people switching to their mobile devices to access the internet, this lead is destined to grow over time continuously.
Add blog to your photography website: Go beyond just showcasing work on your portfolio website. Clients, employers and the rest of the world want to know more about you - how you are as a person, your passion, your hobbies and life beyond work.
