I'm using and would recommend Insightly which is free for up to 3 users. Insightly provides a robust custom fields option. Custom fields are extra data fields you can add to all contact, organization, opportunity and project records to capture additional information when creating and saving those records. You can add up to 10 additional fields per record in either text format, date format, or chosen from a list of options you specify. This is unusual flexibility in a Free product. I also like Insightly because it works well with Google Docs and does social media. Zoho would be my second choice. It has a larger customer base and other products to consider. It also has specific strengths supporting foreign languages.
You really need to give us more details about your company. What does it do. How does it collect the leads. What is the CRM supposed to do for you. Volume. Growth. Future needs. Etc.
I have just started using a simple online program that is very affordable called fiitfu. I don't really have anything to report yet - but they do have a one month trial.

There are many different apps out there - all depends on your business needs.
My advice - start with small and simple saas software, and then when your business outgrows it, you can look for an bigger, dedicated solution .

I recommend leadmaster, it is easy to use and has lead management, client management and email marketing functionality all built in.
Truly depends on your startup and budget. Insightly for Google Apps is a great tool and fits any budget - "free". The fact that you can save, assign and task emails within the inbox is invaluable.
I agree with Daniel - heck, for some businesses, OUTLOOK can work. Others might need the power of an Infusionsoft.

Try Evernote - it is free, completely customisable and allows you the make mistakes in setting up your data capture, review and task management system i.e. without losing the information you have already input. There are lots of online resources to help too. Or give me a shout... Regards, Graham
