What is one piece of entrepreneurial advice you would like to share in honor of World Entrepreneurs' Day?
Hi everyone! My name is Haley and I am the Community Manager here at business.com.
I just wanted to bring to everyone's attention that this coming Wednesday 8/21/19 is World Entrepreneurs' Day. This special day was created to promote awareness for entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership throughout the world.
If you consider yourself an entrepreneur, I want to hear from you! Share your stories of success, your failures, your lessons learned, advice for young entrepreneurs, etc. We will even share the top answers on our social feeds.
Let's hear it! Share your community answers on your own social feeds as well. Make sure to tag business.com and use the hashtags #WED #TwentyFirstAugust #AIBA
Hi Haley, my advice to fresh entrepreneurs would be to 'take the leap'.
Being cautious, we tend to list down prerequisites we think we need to have in order to run a successful business. From proper office space to effective resources, our lists can range anywhere from 5 to 20 items, and as a result we make up excuses to delay investments of our time and thought in these new business ideas.
Although I understand that it can be scary to jump into something that could possibly not work out, my advice would be to stop procrastinating and just take the leap.
Do as much research as you can, but keep in mind that knowledge is pretty much all you need to start out. A lot of businesses, including my own, started out from a room in somebody's house, without half the things most people think they'd need. Don't get me wrong. If you have all those things, then that's great. But if you don't, don't wait on them.
At the end of the day, all you need is a commitment, maybe an internet connection these days and enough relevant knowledge to execute your ideas, for your business to take off.
