What is the best email marketing tool?
I have explored Constant Contact and iContact a little and both are decent, though also have their limitations. What do others recommend (something not too pricey)?
A lot of it has to do with what you would like to accomplish. Try Aweber which is an affordable favorite amongst internet marketers, MailChimp is a free alternative and if you are ready to go deluxe, try Infusionsoft. Just be ready for the latter's price point and learning curve.
You can check out Mailchimp. The Free plan is sufficient if you are a start-up or a freelancer - 2000 contacts and upto 12000 mails every month. It's a neat deal, you also get good stats reports etc. But if you want to upgrade, Mailchimp is a little pricey.
An alternative to Mailchimp that I checked out recently is Mad Mimi. It's not as great as Mailchimp with respect to design. But they do give you the option of custom design. So if you know what you want, you can design it yourself. Even if you want to upgrade, it's quite affordable, it costs just half of what Mailchimp would cost you. And the Support team is great. Very quick and helpful.
Whatever you choose, make sure that the sender reputation is good, because otherwise your mails will be caught up in spam filters.
Drop me a message if you need further info. Best!
I have used over a dozen of these over the past 10 years and found MailChimp to be the clear winner. In ease, features, staying updated with the market needs and customer service. Although I do find that they are slightly higher priced than most (my list is 100k+).
It depends on your requirement. Did you try interspire? How many contacts do you have?
It really does depend on your goals and your requirements, but I echo many people's comments. MailChimp is great and definitely worth considering.
I didn't like using iContact. Constant Contact, with all its limitations is A+ on customer support and quite affordable. Just watch the cost escalate when you add the modules (including the image library) beyond "plain" email marketing.
While we do not use bulk mail, we use Mail Chimp's Mandrill product to track transactional email and have been very happy with the results.
I have aweber (because a business partner insists on it for our sfm business which I find clunky to use but does do the job but my first choice is always Mailchimp - although it can get upset if you start having a clearout of people with deliberate emails getting those procrastinators to unsubscribe.. then a nicely worded soryy and a few hoops and you get it back..
Give Optyn a try. It is really streamlined and quick to use. Less than 2 minutes to send out a campaign. It is really ideal for small-mid size businesses.
