What is the best project management app you are using?
I want to know what web or mobile app and software you are using to manage your daily tasks and projects. There are many task management app available in the market but want to know what works best for IT companies.
I have tried so many that I have lost count. I used Asana for a long time but now I have moved to Hassl.co. It's great. Easy to use and has all the important features without integration, like time tracking, Gantt charts, instant chat, etc. There is a free version and a business version.
So we've tried using various platforms for project management, over the years. Our latest installment has been JIRA, and so far it's proven to be useful. It's improved our efficiency as a team and has allowed us to be more integrated, which makes for better quality work.
In my opinion, any platform that increases transparency and open communication, and ideally is integrated into your calendars or browsers for the day, should help improve software development. At the end of the day, it will really come down to your team's preferences and style of work.
Not sure if this app would work for IT companies, but I have been using Airtable. It's available online and has an app.
Asana is among the most simplified PM tool we found so far. The free version is enough to get your basic work done.
There are many.
Traditional tools you pay for include Microsoft Project and MS Project Server. EPM Live, SharePoint-based and “in the cloud” can be used in conjunction with it or stand-alone. Primavera is often used in construction. Clarity is another popular one.
Agile tools include Mingle, VersionOne, TFS. There are many others.
There are many free tools as well if you don’t need robust fully featured tools. Have a look at the Capterra site for a list of those.
