What is the best way to do business online without appearing like a spammer?
I want to grow my customer base with a health/wellness/weight loss product that has a 100% money back guarantee. How do I get my message out there to attract people to my product?
By giving an individual sales approach that becoming a random business mail order.
Congratulations to have a feasible business idea. There are two fundamental challenges we need to overcome in order to make the Business Cycle rolling : (1) Getting connected with the right base of customers (2) Sell the Product reliability , in other words establish Product Credibility. These can be achieved as:
(1) Getting connected with the Right Customer Base: (a) Advertisement or Sales pitch to be communicated via Life style websites, Social media sites, google or yahoo mail .(2) Once the customers are drawn to your website give them a flavor of your products or services by " Word of mouth publicity": upload the video of the customer's who have been benefited by the products. This should work. To gain the referral customers you'll have to create two or more in your vicinity , this will help you establish credibility of the product economically. All the best. First and foremost know who your target is, address each member of your list by name, never use things like dear recipient, or [first name], generalizations. Take the time to understand the members of your list, their needs and remember you're the one in the end who will suffer the loss if you don't. Content is your next problem, you need to know what you are selling, use your own product, this way you are the expert and the authority. Lastly I would say, use multiple landing pages, all targeting your potential clientele.
I start by building relationships through networking. And never use networking for selling. Networking is for building relationships and for giving and receiving referrals.
I network in person and virtually via phone (or Skype, Hangout, etc).
People buy from people they know and like, so build the relationships, focus on how you can give referrals, and learn how to ask for them in return.
If the people you network with want to buy from you, let them draw that conclusion without ever selling.
Also, public speaking and workshops is great for getting the word out. Is there something you can teach? Like the top three tips for getting back into your skinny jeans? or something your target market really struggles with?
Do the workshop or speak, give fantastic content, and sell from the back of the room.
Do you have a good website? How long has you been doing marketing on this product? The rest if finding which market is your niche. It will take time but you will have to promote your product first. Why it is good. Example of users, The rest is selling.

It looks like an MLM - if so, are you provided with guidelines you must follow for promoting the products and business opportunity online?
Firstly Janie, you don't actually mention whether or not your product works. I'm sure you believe in it as you;re offering a guarantee, but is your belief based on personal experience (which can be very skewed) or on actual verifiable market research? In other words, have you tested it on people who have a different bodily composition and metabolism than yourself? If it stands up to the tests as something that works for the majority of people, then you've got a viable business product.
If it doesn't work then there's no point in carrying on, there are millions of products that don't work and frankly, what's the point?
If it does work then your first point of call should be to distribute a press release detailing the testing, success rate etc. This should be distributed widely so it's going to cost you $300+ to get it in the vision of those you want to be seeing it (news networks etc). Healh & Beauty magazines are always looking for the next wonder product and as feature on a news network or within a magazine will not only increase your conversions, it will also raise your credibility and that needs to be done because there are a lot of charlatans in your industry.
News outlets are sure to pick up on products that are proven through verifiable data.
Then if you really want to hit the big bucks, invest some money in a celebrity endorsement, the perfect time for that is Christmas when minor celebrities are pictured in unflattering circumstances. As soon as you see someone like that, you're almost certain to see them in 4 months time (just in time for bikini weather) with a DVD out saying "Look how much weight I lost using xx product!". It's all a ploy, all clever marketing, but a celebrity endorsement is the big earner. In order to get these on board, you should be approaching their agents around now and offering either a flat fee, or more commonly, a percentage of sales. Bear in mind that it's not unusual for them to want large percentages, especially if it's like a diet/fitness regime on DVD simply because it's their name that will sell it and they'll be doing promotional work. The simpler option is just to pay them a flat fee for endorsing it.
