What is the best way to generate sales?
I need to get more jobs to boost my sales. I am not fond of doing the sales work. Should I consider hiring a sales representative, even though I am just starting out?
You said that you are "not fond of doing the sales work." I'll guess that you don't like being rejected. You are not alone. Nobody does.
The first thing is to not show your disappointment. Get really excited about selling. How? Review the results that you have created for others (or hope to create) and craft a story that you can get excited about. Then practice telling your story to people, and take note when you get positive reactions.
There are a number of steps in the sales process that you should become familiar with. Do some research on those. My suggestion is, to begin with, a positive attitude about your offering. Then the other sales steps become less intimidating.
As Mark stated, most likely, you don't want to sale because of fear of rejection. I suggest you take to heart and put into practice what he suggested, while considering outsourcing a PORTION of your sales process, just not the entirety of your sales funnel.
1. Identify Your Target Audience
2. Pick Your Promotional Methods Wisely
3. Create a Sales Funnel
4. Use an Email Newsletter to Build Relationships
5. Leverage Social Media to Connect and Engage
Lead generation should be thought of as a long-term and continuous process. If you get an efficient system in place using the sales lead tips above, you can streamline the lead generation process and increase your opportunities for business growth.
It all depends on your marketing strategy as all mention here. If you are at the start of your business and you don't want to do by yourself and are in production mode then you should hire a sales representative.
Sales are the final part of any deal so the person can set up you in the right direction what, where and how.
