What tips do you have for growing the clientele for my mobile app & web development company?
I am the founder and CEO of Dastan digital services, a mobile app and web development company. My team helps our clients improve their mobile and web presence using the latest technology. Our company is based in Maryland, U.S.
What are some methods I can use to grow my clientele and land more projects?
Do you have a budget to exhibit at 1-2 trade shows in your type of business? These trade shows are B2B and you will be in touch with some big decision-makers. Here is a link to find some trade shows related to what you do: https://10times.com/tradeshows/by-industry
I don't know what keywords to search for you, I'm sure you know, start there and first attend a few to see if the show is a good potential for your offered services. Try to make an excellent website showing exactly the best products you did, if you say you do mobile apps then by all mean show some good mobile apps you did so far. If you can't show what you did, then how a potential client would hire you? Put yourself in his/her shoes.
You can try fixing your SEO on your website and try advertising on Google, but that's all going to waste you $$$. You need to get out there and talk to people who may be one day be your clients, network to no end. GET A NICHE don't try to be everything, try to get something unique and focus on it.
To be honest I didn't get what you do when you said: "My team helps our clients improve their mobile and web presence using the latest technology". I could not follow up on what you do and you did not get me excited, it was so broad and boring, try to find a better way on how you market (sell) yourself, maybe you could say: "We are specialized in improving our clients mobile app functionality, for example, we worked on a project for client AB and fixed their XX app that had several bugs issues in which their app sales increased after our work by 20%..."
You need to be specific in your sales pitch, if you can't sell yourself then you won't be able to close a sale.
You can always go for organic SEO to generate relevant leads. It is a big process. It is better to do it right hence go for a trusted agency for the same.
Hi Sohrab,
To get quality clients for your web development company, you can focus on a list of Client Profiles in your locality who you feel is your target audience. Create an audience persona of your clients based on your requirements (budget, business types, employee size). Create a list of companies and then send out your communication to them via Linkedin sponsored email, company info email, etc.
Along with that focus on your social media and paid advertising campaign. When you reach out to clients, offer them a free-digital audit as goodwill and gain client attention. Doing so you can build a robust client base in 4-6 months. Continue the efforts, as consistency is the key in digital marketing, the results might be reflecting in the long term.
Hi Sohrab. Welcome to the app development industry. :)
I'm not sure what stage your business is at, at the moment. But when my partner and I started out, we already had experience working with different clients through different companies. And their trust and references/recommendations played a significant role in attracting new clients.
So my advice would be to use your successful experiences and interactions with clients, to garner new business.
Hope that helps, and good luck!
Clients are the lifeblood of any business. I would suggest a few tips to get grow your clientele:
1. Ask for referrals, don’t wait for them
2. Browse freelancing sites like Upwork to get more projects
3. Browse through old email conversations with colleagues, connections, and people you’ve spoken within the past, who are still running an offline business. Follow up with each, asking what they’ve been up to start an online website or mobile app and how you can help.
Try SEO to your site, run ads on the Internet or on specialized sites where you can get an order from customers, freelance exchanges are a good option.
Hi Asim, thank you for the advice but the problem is my U.S. company is new and I have only done two projects there. I did a lot of app and websites in my country which doesn't help me get new projects outside of my country.
