What is the besy way of improve my website alexa ranking?
I am interested in improving my website Alexa ranking. Is there any tool or SEO Factor to improve my Alexa ranking?
Thanks.
Few days back I found this article http://www.crunchytricks.com/2014/07/10-methods-to-increase-alexa-ranking.html and it helped me a lot. I think it took around 10-12 to reach 1 lac alexa ranking of my newly created website.
Try taking help of an expert on sites like SEOClerks, listingdock etc. They got very low fees.
Install alexa tool bar in your computer. Also ask your friends and relatives to do that. With the usage of that tool and visiting the website as well through it will for sure increase your alexa ranking.
Alexa's evaluation algorithm places a heavy weighting upon the number and PR quality of the backlinks which are "hooked into" your site. The other typical SEO factors do figure into the ranking of your site, but obtaining the greatest number of high-ranked backlinks is one of the quickest ways to elevate your Alexa score and ranking position. Incidentally, large numbers of low-ranking or irrelevant backlinks will work against you. Good content and some intelligent social engineering will work best to assist you in obtaining the greatest Alexa rankings.
I think the first question is why you would so so worried about your Alexa ranking unless you were a media company. Alexa rankings, as Eddie points out below are questionable at the outset because their methodology really doesn't mirror usage of the web.
Secondly the real value in ranking is where you are on a search page. And as Collin rightly points out to do that is through deployment SEO best practices. Another one is to start SEM and paying for placement (drives more traffic and Google likes making money so they tend to bump up advertisers sites) and even developing a Social campaign and even advertising itself. The basic thing to do it so get people to go the site and get then to come back often. Rankings like nothing better than legitimate traffic.
Yes, agreed with the others. Design an editorial calendar that incorporates your content education with top trending on all social media terms. Launch 2 press releases a month minimum and distribute through free wire service unless you buy a subscription service $40-$800 a release depending on who you use.
Optimize your SEO key terms, and leverage your editorial calendar to post on all your social spaces (linkedin, google+, FB, TWitter, Pinterest) ; whatever makes sense for your target audience. Post several times a day using a tool like Hootsuite.
I recommend Blogdash to create a campaign so that bloggers will cover your stories- do at least 5-7 articles a month on what you know and let them propagate online on their blogs and drive awareness to your web pages.
SEO is a combination of onsite and off site tools and techniques...most of all, it takes time. Those that have been out there longer than you will get higher priority. So be patient and you'll start to see results over months of disciplined work.
The focus should be on more traffic, more sales, better customer experience. Focus on those and you'll find rankings really don't matter.. They look after themselves.
to increase Alexa rank the easiest way is to install Alexa toolbar on all staff computers and have all staff visit your website as much as possible
Alexa is very un reliable, we help many companies with their internet marketing through SEO, example one of customers gets 4000 hits a month and there Alexa raking is over 8 million when we have another client just started with us gets 300 to 400 hits and his ranking is 1.2 million. Analytics is a better way to track your site..
Hi, RT,
One of the quickest ways of improving your Alexa ranking is to use content curation. You simply write a brief lead-in to a high-ranking site's content (a particular post that is relevant to your website), maybe put your spin on the topic, and then link to the other site's post. Using anchor text usually works better for the link than just putting the URL.
To check out content curation in action, you can visit:

And, as mentioned, to become a high ranking site with ongoing 'good' Alexa ranking, you do need original and regularly updated useful content on your site.
Hope this is helpful,
Karen

Get more visitors , improve the alexa rank .. SIMPLE !
Not Exactly , It's not easy to bring visitors to your site , especially those visitors who convert.
There are many many sources of traffic , however i recommend using social media and seo . you can also use Email marketing but its not easy as it requires you to first build a list .

This article is pretty helpful. http://www.shoutmeloud.com/increase-alexa-traffic-rank-tips.html
Your Alexa ranking is based on your traffic. Improve the number of visitors on your site, and you'll improve your Alexa ranking. To improve traffic, you need to be doing effective SEO, social media, any other marketing efforts that will drive visitors to your website.
Your goal should NOT be your Alexa ranking, but the number of visitors on your site that are potential customers. Your Alexa rank is just a reflection of that.
Alexa has been acquired by Amazon so expect some changes soon. Anyway, an SEO strategy combines with well integrated online marketing campaigns is the best way to rank well in Alexa.
Since traffic is at the core of the Alexa Rank, you can do almost anything to improve it.
There are a few other factors, one being time on site. Collin's suggestion of "quality content" will get people to stick. If it is not in their interest to stay longer, then it may not be worth the time/expense to influence it.
ie. Amazon's length of time on site is much less than Facebook. One is ecommerce and the other a social site. :Length of time varies.
No one cares what your Alexa rank is when engaging and there will be many times you see two websites side by side with different traffic numbers but have the same Alexa Rank. It is helpful for loose comparisons.
So, anyone can buy traffic via TV ad. This will influence Alexa Rank. It tells you nothing about the real results or the profitability. When you get under 100,000... things get more interesting.
Best of luck.
Mike
PS
They said "MOZ" - yes to that. I am a customer. Very helpful.
1) Install Alexa widget in your website.
2) Install Alexa in your browser.
3) Set your website as your home page in your browser.
4) Attract more traffic to your website.
The above should help you increase your Alexa ranking in no time ;-)
Very simple answer really. Alexa has a toolbar that logs the users site visits. It then extrapolates that data to assume a number of total visitors.
Essentially, you are looking at site number 1 not necessarily being the most visited site on the web, but the site most visited by those whose data Alexa is tracking.
So in order to increase your Alexa rank, one must increase visits by Alexa users
The most straightforward way to improve your Alexa score is through consistent content creation, optimized on-page SEO, and legitimate, quality backlinks.
Many people are tempted to "buy" cheap, automated backlinks in order to gain a solid reputation in the online community.
The issue with this, however, is that Google continues to get smarter (Alexa integrates passively with Google's algorithm).
These days, the easiest way to get yourself trapped in the Google sandbox is to try and play the system. It may provide you with a quick spike, but once Google learns your ways, your site will suffer dearly!
As Eddie said, I always recommend Moz to my clients to monitor and optimize their websites rankings.
Best,
Collin
Best practices in SEO. However, Alexa data is very skewed. I wouldn't necessarily count on it.
Use moz
