What are your suggestions for naming a company with several different product lines?
I registered a company for selling vacuum pumps at the beginning but I dropped that product line and went on to sell scale models instead which became very successful soon after.
But the original company name still appears on other B2B marketplaces and is used on invoices for receiving funds from selling scale models, even though this company name no longer matches what I'm selling.
I do have a professional business website that presents my products under a different name and brand at the moment, one that better describes the product offerings. However, I'm sure it is confusing for customers to then receive invoices from a company with a different name.
I know I need to re-register my company under a different name, but I only want to have to change the name once. What if I pursue a different line of business in a different industry in the future? Should I just change the company name to something general, e.g. maybe my own name and have different brand names for each business I run?
Appreciate all the ideas.
