What tools best assist with lead generation in social media?
For one of my ventures, social media is the main tool I am using to promote the company's products/services. We're currently experimenting with Hootsuite, but I'm curious about other good ones that might be out there. What tools do you use?
A lead in social networks is a user who performs an action: clicks on a button, clicks on a link, creates a post, comments, and makes a repost. You can get some helpful tips here.
Advantages of lead generation in social networks:
You don't need to create a website or landing page — you can get information directly in social networks.
You can calculate the cost of each lead and ad campaign.
You only pay for a specific and real user.
In Today's generation I would say Social Media is the foundation for generating leads because they are active and updated in these networks. If somebody changes their job, You can either find out through website ( Top management ) or Linkedin.

I rely on tools including HootSuite and TweetDeck strictly for organizational purposes or as I call it the "It's Monday morning and I have no idea what to post or tweet.' The majority of my time involves focused effort on relationship building and establishing my clients' brands as trusted resources. I avoid the hard-sell and concentrate on ways to gain that trust to the point that the positive referrals from our social media network are some of the most valuable leads generators.
Hi Jen, you are right, Hootsuite is a good tool to publish on social medias.
You can easily post once on several groups on linkedin for example!

Good morning, I believe social media today is the cheapest marketing strategy. I think as much as people tend to think that face book is flooded , it could be a good ground for your promotions. All you need to do is create a page, then invite your friends to like your page. The chain will extend as they will invite their friends, and their friends will invite more. This creates awareness. You can also upload a you tube video telling people about your products.
Radio is hugely efficient for web / social attraction. Make sure the message is clear, connects and delivered in credible style. Clark
One Technique that I use is,
http://qrcodehome.net/make-a-qr-code and link the QR Codes to my social media pages. Which I can then place the QR Codes on my business cards, flyers, coupons etc etc. The company does it all!
I use HootSuite to monitor and schedule posts on Google+, Facebook, & LinkedIn.
I like TweetDeck for Twitter. It's owned by Twitter and it's has some nicer features than HootSuite.
For content curation, Feedly.
You still need spend some time daily on each network as HootSuite is limited as to what you can do.
Blogging at least 3 times a week will drive the leads to your site and then your website plays a huge part in capturing the leads with a compelling call-to-action.

I use Hootsuite all of the time for my clients and like it very much and always suggest it to new clients! It is an easy way to make scheduled posts to the different social media sites and saves you time. As I am sure that you are finding out. I used to use Tweet Deck but I personally Love Hootsuite much better. But of course I use Facebooks own scheduler instead of Hootsuite due to the posts seem to receive more likes and such. Hootsuite is a social media dashboard, and a dashboard's main function is to allow you to post to and monitor your social media platforms from one central place.
You CAN use dashboard's as lead generators by following key words in your industry and having them come into your viewer or by sending people to your lead pages on your website through specific links you post.
In the latter case (sending people to your site via links), it is not the dashboard that is the lead generator, it is the platform you posted to. For example you use Hootsuite to post to Twitter, in your post you link to a specific lead capture page on your website. Someone clicks though and fills out your form... So it was not Hootsuite that got you the the lead, it was Twitter.
In the former use (following key words) you could say Hootsuite is the lead generator because if you follow "I hate peeling potatoes" and someone Tweets that, you can send them a message about your fabulous automatic potato peeler and hope they will click through to fill out your form...
Using Social Media that way will not convert MANY leads to sales, unless someone is seeking what you do in the moment, and you have an offer they cannot refuse (your peeler better have tons of special features or be priced so low who would say no?)...
Social Media is more about building relationships first... and becoming someone who is recognized for solving certain problems. Using the peeler example, you would gain a better reputation by starting a conversation first with that person about how to peel a potato and discussing options. Build trust with your new friend, they will check you out... people buy from people they like. So get people to like you first. Don't just reply with links...

First thing to sort out is your objective
What do you want ? (only 1)
- 1. fast path to cash
- 2. traffic or
- 3. exposure
Each has its own way to go to achieve the objective. Example -If it's (1) money - long term or fastest path to cash?
Long term sales funnel or FP2C If it's the latter ,why do you want this?
To get more clients- Sell your services -Use Facebook and a website.
Tools to post to Facebook instead of Hootsuite. I prefer to use Rignite as it is so easy to use, the support is great and I love the services.
Promoting with social media is a tool to reach your audience.The reason you want to reach them is to help them, not sell them. Setting up a social media campaign takes all of this into consideration and much more.

How about NONE of these known tools like Hootsuite as your main social media approach to finding and acquiring paying customers online or offline
Proactively, directly finding and Harvesting local customers from social media without facing competition is quite doable on your own for any business regardless of expertise in the online world.
Instead, It has everything to do with knowing exactly where your natural target audiences hang out online to discuss common issues, challenges, needs that you and your offering can directly solve and directly joining into their conversations with ideas that can help them manage or solve their issues that they are raising and discussing.
In that way you can manage getting directly to your natural target audience who actually have a "need it now" or seem to need what you offer and can get that all important "hey, thats me - I need to talk with Jen".
It has nothing to do with how many sites you are on nor paid ads.
I'd suggest that you do this:
--Find those hidden social media sites and join in offering short expert ideas or paths to take for resolving the issues being discussed.
--Don’t sell, just suggest as in " to manage or solve the issues that you have raised, you might want to try doing ( very short sentence that point to the typr of service/product idea that you offer)" Say just enough so it hints strongly but has no elaborated specifics.
--No brand names, product names. just post an action path in the way I have suggested
--Do sign your post with your name, company, email,phone. It establishes your credentials and wont be seen as an attempt to sell.
Doing that directly establishes you amongst your natural target audiences as their "go to" source for answers and solutions, not as a sale type but as a respected and valued "member of their family" so to speak.
The result of this approach will be lots of calls from genuine prospects to you with a genuine need for what you do asking for YOUR help.
--That's how you can both promote to genuine natural prospects but even more important, acquire lots of customers and do so without facing competition.
--You also reach the "I need it now" prospect before they google search and they call you instead.
These now known genuine prospects will also take a call from you because they know you and respect your expertise. That means you now proactively and directly control actually reaching and harvesting genuine prospects who have a need for your products and moving that into lots of sales.
Thats how I work and its what I teach my clients to do to simultaneously promote but more important, acquire paying clients online via social media without having to face competition

Jen, I have a bit of a different slant on Social Media marketing.
Do not put ALL YOUR EGGS in the social media basket. Social media is just a tool. It should be integrated with ALL your other marketing strategies. Do not do it in a vacuum.
Remember you DO NOT own those social media sites that you are relying on.
And on Facebook you will only get about 16% organic views.
If you are not doing this already, my recommendation is to use social media to capture people's email address and cell phone numbers.
Having a bunch of "LIKES" means very little if you do not have the contact info of those "LIKES"
Consider implementing contest and landing pages so you can capture contact info, build your own database so you can FOLLOW-UP.
I could be wrong, but it sounds like you are focusing on the delivery system, instead of what message/offer you are delivering.
Another one of your objectives is to try to redirect your Social Media traffic over to your website.

Hubspot has everything built in. It is a breeze to monitor, respond, and manage many social media accounts. No limits, but them in a buffer, monitor the keywords, get notifications and more. It is integrated with email, blogging, analytics, Calls to Acton buttons to track everything.

Tweetdeck, Hootesuite are both great. It will depend on which ones you personally prefer. (Chocolate or strawberry?)
Buffer is also a good addition if you don't have a tool like Hubspot.
I prefer tools with built in tracking code so we can understand the response to the 'promote'. Unfortunately, social media can show how there is plenty of effort but with no one clicking.
