What type of credit card processing would be the best option for a rural/seasonal country club?
We are a small community with a population of ~1,500 residents. We are a non-profit club and want to be able to still offer affordable services to our members/guests.
Hi Ivy,
For a seasonal business, a mobile credit card processor that has pay-as-you-go terms might be the way to go -- that way, you don't have to worry about any monthly or annual fees and you only pay for the processing you use. If your members/guests prefer to use rewards credit cards/premium credit cards, the rates will be a little better, as well. But, if you would typically charge more than $3,000 in credit/debit transactions per month and your members/guests prefer to pay with debit cards, it would be worth looking into a full-service processor that lets you put your account on ice (seasonal hold). Rates are a little lower--especially for debit and regular credit cards, but you will have to pay monthly and annual fees. Best of luck with your decision. Please let us know which company you pick and how it works out for you!
