What would you prefer to use to promote your products ?
Would you prefer to use Facebook ads, LinkedIn ads, or Google ads? Many of us are using different technologies and promotional tools - however, I am interested in understanding the best and most effective tool for promoting online courses to my targeted audience.
It all depends what your objectives are, they all have their benefits and pitfalls:
Linkedin ads let you target specific roles within a company so you can show ads only to business owners if you choose. Linked has a very low click-through rate though, incredibly low so you won't pick up much traffic.
Facebook ads, again you can target specific demographics mainly based on individuals rather than roles. These people have to be caught off-guard because they usually interact with friends on Facebook, it's social so games and things work well. On the downside, again, click-through rates are very low and it's not as cheap as it used to be.
Google Adwords is more contextual, instead of targeting people or employees, you target the keywords they are searching for so it works differently. The click through are lots higher and you're sure that the person is searching for your product, but the costs are higher.
Bing ads is a good option, there is not as much traffic as Adwords, but the costs are less.
First you need to figure out what you want, do you want to target a specific demographic or what they are searching for. If you're targeting what they are searching for Bing Ads and Adwords are your best options. If you want to target specific types of people, you'd follow one of the other two options. If it's B2B you'd go for Linkedin, B2C would be Facebook.
I think that google ads generally have worked well for me, whereas the click traffic generated by facebook ads has been a little meager. I'm not sure whether that's just due to a general facebook system or my individual campaign.
Dave's right, however, that there are pros and cons to certain strategies.
One thing that I haven't explored yet but that seems to be a huge possibility is google remarketing, where those who have visited your website get targeted specifically.
Good luck!
It all depends upon your product... If it is consumer oriented then you should opt for FB since it has regular traffic.. but if you want to promote to Professionals or technology oriented, then Linkedin is good... but it you want just an awareness of the product, then Google.
Regarding online course.. you need to find out your audience, becoz LinkedIn already has qualified people so only specialized course will attract them.
For any ad campaign, the most important is to "know your numbers". Profit, cost, conversion rates, etc...
Your cost per click and earnings per click are the two most important.
Then about 90% of the time the success of the ads is directly related to the offer and/or the targeting.
We have run traffic on various platforms for micro and macro campaigns. You really have to know and understand your targeted audience and if your offer converts.
Also, I recommend split testing all the time. You need to continuously being testing new headlines for your ads and landing pages. Cause with online ads, you need to be ready to change it up a once in a while to avoid "banner blindness".
You can pretty much run ads any where and have success as long as you understand the basics!
Too vague for a complete answer. What is the product? Who is the target market? How and where is it used. With those answers I can give you a beneficial answer,
I use all of the social media sites by branding myself. People would rather do business with someone they have a connection with.
I would probably recommend targeted email marketing. It has the ability to target exactly who you want to reach and is a fantastic branding tool.
It is also a good resource for cross-platform marketing as it can connect to social media, your website and other places you are promoting your company.
Where is your target market and ideal client? Where do they get their information to make a buying decision? That is where you need to spend some of your marketing dollars.
Hi Bhushan,
You state that you are looking to promote for your online courses. I have found that creating a 15-30 sec youtube video about the course itself and promoting it through all of your social media including your blog or newsletter is more efficient than paying for advertising for courses. If you are charging for your course then you want to consider Google Ads which will link to YouTube. Here is a link to a site that I have found to be useful in creating great quick promos for advertising purposes. http://www.hypemyhangout.com/-#
For Online Promotion Facebook ads are help in promoting your product while for offline promotion or local promotion led signs or billboards are the best because we generally see the led signs or billboards at traffic signals, in shopping malls, in markets etc., these types of leading signs help to attract real attention .
Thanks Dave for your inputs would definitely considers it .
