Where do you look for clients that want to create games?
I'm starting an independent business in a field of creating games for mobile platforms. I got a professional development team, but no sales or business developers. So I have to learn how to sell my services myself. Can you please suggest a strategy on finding clients: where to look for them first of all?
You would need to be involve in the gaming industry. Go to trade shows, get ad publications in gaming magazines. Market your brand through social media.
Don't look for a charterers with game scripts, convert your own ideas to the games and use paid subscription model to distribute. In this case all the mobile users are your prospects and you have a longterm subscription based revenue instead of oneoff remuneration and you don't care about rivals who are in pole position in race for charterers.

In my experience, you should release an alpha and beta version of your game in the free market to test it. There you can build a following if you have developed a good game.
You can create you own games for sale on google apps, apple's app store, or approach an advertising agency and suggest a possible games app that also prompotes a specific product? ie the app can be paid or moneterised through advertising. You also have to have an online presence. Make a video for each app. There are web sites for getting your app noticed: AppShout, AppBrain. Have free and paid for versions. Don't mix in app purchases with advertising - the app will become annoying very quickly. Pick your platform carefully ios and android are the top two.If at first you don't succeed, that doesn't mean your not going to make it.
Alex, two suggestions here. Regarding strategy: identify your market, target sector, clients, proposition (who will buy the games, how, what will they cost?) and marketing approach (how will you grab market attention?). Regarding finding clients: this depends on the answer to strategy. You can use the services of a virtual business development team on a commission/ profit share basis or use digital marketing to sell for you.
No doubt there will be a lot of qualified answers here, however, from my experience, there are a number of things you will need to consider. In no particular order, here are a few.. before you even attempt to market your products. In no particular order
1. Determine the kind/types of games you wish to develop and who your target audience(s) are? (Is there any generated interests in your games and what demographic - experinces, age groups etc...)
2. What business model are you contemplating? Route into market? (Traditional or self publishing options) (Freemium with Ad Support or Premium or both) Very Important because this can also determine how you approach marketing, promotions and sales.
Also consider Joining Online Gamers Networks, forums and network events. Perhaps, you may want to release beta versions and get feedback. Start up a subgroup and develop a community around your business (games) - Curating your own audiences. Attend Trade Shows and meet the right people (Important to make and leave an impression) and last but not least, find a strategic partner to "push" your games on their platform.
Hope it helps. Feel free to connect if I can be of assistance.
Good Luck in your endeavours.
You are in an industry that more often than not can be fired up without the use of marketing types(at least initially), but to be honest you will need incentives or at least a good platform where the audience has strong buying intention. I would consider distributing your games for more devices than just mobile, get into Steam (Valve) and try to distribute your games there. And look at yourself as a customer if you are a gamer too, where do you shop? Other here sugest Play and Apple stores, one is free to join and the other one charges $25(one off) for a dev account, reach out there and offer free taster versions of your games to gauge a feel about popularity/potential of what you want to sell.
Alex, you really need to decide who is going to be your target market specifically. There is an excellent course on edX on run by MIT called " Who is my customer" Maybe that is a good place to start and then you can decide how to get the clients
Hope this helps

Alex. Excuse me if I am wrong, and please correct me, but it appears that you are an app development company looking to be hired (subcontracted) by clients who need your technical expertise. While I am not an app development expert I would suggest that before you "look" for clients that you take time to develop your business model (google The Business Model Canvas, Alexander Osterwalder) and pay special attention to defining your Value Proposition. The field of app development is extremely crowded, as you well know, and differentiating your offering from the 1000's of offerings already out there will be critical to both your customer segment(s) identification and your success. Once you know your CVP it will be easier to identify the segment of the market that will most appreciate it (and pay for it!). Hope this helps get you started.
you can sell your game online . on google andriod market also
