Wordpress or Joomla?
I have 8 different websites for my business that I have always done myself. I've used FrontPage and Dreamweaver with premade templates in the past, and created two from scratch. I want to redo my main website that was originally created through FrontPage. What is better Joomia or Wordpress? I've done a little research that says Wordpress has more plugins, but mosaicHUB answers have suggested to use Joomia. What are the pros and cons between the two, and would I be better off using Joomia, Wordpress, or staying with Dreamweaver?
Joomla is a better website platform. Wordpress was designed for blogging. You can accomplish the same things in both platforms, but Joomla works better for larger websites as it's more intuitive from the backend. Many times you can implement more on Joomla with less time.
That said, Wordpress is more popular because it's easier for the non developer to quickly put together a website. They've made it really simple. Simplicity doesn't always mean better.
Also most Wordpress developers will say"Wordpress is better" primarily because they haven't tried anything else. That's like an apple farmer saying apples are better than oranges when he's never tried an orange.
I agree with John Elcik's take: If you can't afford to hire a team of developers, or don't have these skills yourself, you should consider WordPress.
If you can, let them look at your requirements and decide the best option for your business. Hiring a company that only develops in Wordpress won't be the best decision for you as they only deal in "Apples".
Best of luck to you.
I like Wordpress the most, honestly. But also, I would recommend you to go for some web design company like the one from https://weblium.com They can create a great landing page or a website for you fast and it will meet all yout requirements. Also, they will give you an access to their cool website editor and you will be able to make some changes on your own. Good luck with your projects ;)
Frankly speaking, I never tried Joomla. I prefer Wordpress, mostly because of a great choice of themes (recently I created a website using a professionally coded wordpress theme from https://www.templatemonster.com/wordpress-themes.php resource). Since my developer skills are limited these themes are an ideal solution for me!
Though both Wordpress and Jhoomla are good content management systems, the former beat the latter for its ease of use, huge global community, plugins and themes
The importance of WORDPRESS cannot be overemphasized. let me put it straight, WORDPRESS is the way to go.
1. very easy to use
2. Used by top brand in the industry
3. Highly secured
4. Take total control of customization
5. Massive plugins to use
Like other professional web experts, my answer is little different. This is true that there are many plugins that will help you maintain WP sites without coding knowledge. It is also true that Joomla is a powerful, faster, and more secure PHP CMS. Joomla always loads a page more quickly to visitors than WP. But you have to maintain Joomla sites with better knowledge than you would need for WP. On the other hand, WP is easily handleable because it has a lot of themes, plugins, etc. The true word is that both are good, here you have to make decisions about them. If you choose Joomla you need a little more extra skills in web design or development. And with WP sites, you have to make sure to run security on the sites.
