Why do people hire virtual assistants?
I am the owner of Remplo, a virtual assistant company from Sri Lanka. I would like to know whether you hire virtual assistants to delegate your personal or business tasks. If so, what have you delegated to them?
I have hired many VA for many tasks. So many that I cannot list them all. The hiring process was quite good and I feel it was well-spent money. With a VA, you can shorten the time you spend on simple tasks. Time is money - regardless of if it's spent on personal or professional tasks. I've used a VA for anything from doing small repetitive tasks to building a website as well as website maintenance.
I haven't hired virtual assistants personally but here is what I heard from people who did.
Let's say you're from Kandy and you've got a business appointment in Colombo. Next day after the appointment you've got a conference in a nearby building. For a comfortable say you need to choose an airline, you need to book tickets and hotel. Also, you need to make sure where to eat and what to eat. Now, you also need to send several follow-ups in the morning and in the evening while you're out on a business trip.
Before you left Kandy do you have time to sit down and book tickets? Do you want to bother yourself which hotel to stay at when your deadlines are pressing on you? You're probably busy doing high management things and you're constantly in decision-making mode, so it would be amazing to delegate these minor tasks to somebody else.
Now, when you're in Colombo, who's gonna send follow-ups? You're too busy and too tired to do that, but it needs to be done.
These are some examples of why you might need a virtual assistant who can do that stuff for you.
