Why should I use video marketing?
I'm in the process of finalizing my e-commerce site and my web developer told me I should consider adding a video to the website for marketing purposes. I'm still confused on why I should go through the trouble of making a video instead of putting my money/time into other forms of marketing. What are the benefits?
In this digital era, video marketing is the best way to promote your business. Because nowadays people are spending most of their Internet Time in watching videos (thanks to our 4G and 5G connections).
Mostly every business (small / big) is now exploring the side of Video Marketing. Videos not only give rich feel to your business but also through videos you can better express about your business.
So its highly recommended to do Video Marketing. You an do it in both ways - Paid or Free. No doubt for Paid Video Marketing, YouTube and Facebook are the best platforms. But if you don't want to spend money, you can explore the Free side as well, in this you publish your video on different free Video Submission Sites and gain benefit of their audience.
You can further share these video links in your social profile as well for more exposure!

Hi Lynn,
Well, I think video preference is one of the most important driving forces of using video in your content marketing. Video marketing can capture a wide audience, and it works on many levels. Many companies use video marketing to keep leads engaged on their page. It is one of the most effective mediums of content marketing. As for your startup business, I would recommend you Global Video Pros (https://www.globalvideopros.com/) because they use cutting-edge technology to create remarkable video content at a low cost.
To some extent, it is good to have videos on our official websites. But it's not mandatory at all. It may cause slow speed of your website. If you can afford a hosting server that can handle these videos and maintain load speed of your website then go for videos. Otherwise compressed photos are also enough good to market your brand. You can upload videos to Youtube as well.
I am glad you are asking the right questions at the outset Lynn. This is very rare. The answer is there is no one-size-fits-all answer. A simple Talking Image can be much more powerful than a video. Simply a video consisting of a static image but an audio voice over. Why is this better? a) because people can then browse the rest of your website while listening. Listening and talking are the most effective ways humans communicate. The old powers of oral story telling are not lessened in the digital age. If you do decide to try a video, first put it on Facebook and boost it to a very targetted audience to test it. Then you will get the data which consists of viewers numbers as a function of time through the video, If you get a large drop off in views before the end - i.e. if the viewers at the end are much less than at the start - then this video is doing nothing for you. In fact it is likely to be damaging your brand.
Lynn,
Video is critical. I compiled a few studies in a slideshare. Here is a link, and please let me know if you need help with any video production:

Personally, and this is simply based on my experience as a marketer of 10 years, and video production consultant for the same time, that we can't put video in it's own class, verse other forms of marketing. All video is marketing, just as seo, email, newsletters, blogs, etc.
The video simply puts you into another channel of audience that likes it better than to read the info.
It sounds to me also like the developer may have meant one video to showcase the company, products, not necessarily a video for all products, or categories.
I typically recommend to my clients also, that one video showcasing their company, the people, the fun within is always good, then we launch on youtube and begin I begin my viral marketing magic.
Feel free to shoot me an email with any questions.
Video Marketing should be profitable because in these days people wants to go for visual prove and video marketing focuses the online imaginative point which will get them comfort and understandable of product and service what you offered by website or other relevant area you choose about.
In my opinion Video marketing is not good idea because people have no time to spend time to watch vedieo ,so vedieo marketing never give you good result
Unfortunately it's a sign of our sound bite world where most people get their news digitally. Video is a growing trend and I've heard statistics that say something to the effect that 90% of websites will have video in the next few years. So, embrace it because like Twitter, it's not going away. Now, the good news! Video gives your website visitors an opportunity to know you, more personally, than if they're simply reading what you write. Video allows you to welcome website visitors in a way that the written word does not. Video is friendly and with good content, starts creating that know, like and trust factor. Video makes sure your viewer is hearing your thoughts, with your emotion and passion. Most visitors will watch a video (if it's not too long).
Make your video as professional as you can afford because you will benefit from the extra expense long term. If you're going to do a video, negotiate with your videographer and do a couple at the same time: welcome to the site, promote an offer, give a great tip or piece of advice. This way, you have a library you can rotate depending upon what your want your website visitors to do. Good luck!
Its a given that a video is the best medium to deliver a message effectively, and has the potential to go viral. People who are online don't want to waste their time reading tons of article, and I have worked quite some time in the industry that I can say that people are no more interested in clicking on the ads, unless it's something connected to their daily lives. This is a long debate though, but to cut it short, video marketing is the essential tool to deliver your brand message in a highly effective way and create a bond with the customers! Spend some top dollar and make a video that people online want to see, see your yourself as a customer and rationalize which videos which you want to see, and then script out the details for your brand video.
Best of Luck!
Cheers
Use the video to share with folks how they benefit more by your products than anyone else.
It doesn't have to be you on camera either if you aren't comfortable with that. Video is great for ALL the reasons people have already mentioned. Once they make it to your website, it is your chance to really "hook" them into purchasing and video is a great way to do that when it is done correctly.
Just be sure to share the relevant information they will find more valuable and direct them where you want them to go or do next!
As far as observation is one of the unique way of understanding in human nature, and it's easily findable that the whole history was strain with visualizing and images related to there time and condition, there would be no question that a video marketing is one of the best ways to reach the goal of attracting a huge market, I have no idea about the cost and also the cast! but I am sure in today's world a fine product and a hunest video marketing will directly go to a succeed!
Videos are great for numerous reasons.
1) People would rather watch a cool video than read a page of text. In today's society of constant engagement and stimulation, videos are a great way to engage those visitors that do not want to read.
2) Videos can help you explain a difficult idea or concept easier than just using text. I have, on numerous occasions, sent short videos about SEO, SEM, or link-building that explains to clients both visually and with a voice over. Videos can be VERY helpful in this way.
3) Videos are great for SEO. Google shows videos in their search results ahead of other organic results. Not only that, search engines cannot truly read videos so they rely on other indicators like URL, the videos title, meta description, and alt description in order to properly rank it. Search engines love web pages that offer a diverse amount and type of content. Videos are great at this!
4) Videos are versatile and can help you stand out on various profile sites like Fivver, Linkedin, Behance, Facebook, Adobe, etc.
Hi Lynn
People want to be told a story. that is the bottom line really. If you can engage the listener on an emotional level with your story-telling, then you will be able to sell more information/ products, because the client trusts you. As all the other comments have stated, today we are extremely visually inclined. focus on visual storytelling. Video is a must for any business, I think.
Bets of luck with your business :)
Regards
Marinda
Hey there Lynn. Great question. In short, Video represents an expanding avenue of content generation and sharing, and an increasing method of longer engagement.
Video is also a popular medium for mobile viewing with 19.69% of clips played on mobile devices [Source: libeltyseo.com]. In fact, YouTube viewers primarily originated from mobile applications and direct links.
Internet video is greater than 40% of consumer internet traffic and will reach 62%

Here are a few more statistics that may help you make your decision:

- It’s no secret that social media is the craze and the single most effective way to

Hope that this has helped.
The comments below are all very good points.
Video certainly helps to communicate complex information more clearly, it is shared more often, and has been proven to create stronger conversion. I would also add that video, (especially on your homepage) will considerably increase your SEO in search results. This makes a major difference in your ability to reach customers.

Good luck!
What are you marketing? If it is an item that "does" something (left handed screwdriver ) then it would be a good idea. If it is a publication no you wouldn't. put the question to yourself. If I saw it on TV would I be more inclined to buy or research it? If the answer is yes then do produce the video.
I do not think you need to make a video....it only reaches the people who have the time to watch a video and you can reach far more people who are: at work, in a hurry, have enough gigs, etc....you do need to be mobile though....that is very important... just sayin'
