What would be the reason potential clients don't reply after showing interest?
I sent some promotional emails to companies, they were interested and asked to see the catalog.
Since I have a catalogue download link on my website page and I asked them to download there. Then they never replied to me, even after I tried to contact them.
I wonder what the reason is? Are they that lazy to even lift their finger and click a download link on my website?
Sometimes I reply to an email on my phone and no e-catalog on my phone. So it is much easier to tell them to go download the catalog on my website.
I don't find that posting catalogs on a website as PDF and send clients links to check them out work! You will need to find a way to track customers behaviors on your website. Install Google Analytics and you will see a lot there and start to have an understanding what customers are looking for, trends, and you may even introduce new products or services after you do analytics for a while.
Now when your customers ask for a catalog, normally they are shopping around and may be taking their time to decide what they will buy and whether your products meet what they are looking for. Asking for a catalog is way far from the fact they actually going to buy from you. Why do you even have a catalog, why not list everything on a friendly website and make it VERY mobile optimized? People don't have time these days to click on links and scroll down and read, they like to see the web page, not click on links in which they don't know where the link is going to take them.
I suggest you reply from your desktop computer and have all the info in your email signature and optimize your email replies so you create some interests. You don't need to give them everything in one email, let them come back with more questions and only at that time, will you have an opportunity to talk to them and explain your products in more detail.
Do not call potential clients very often, no need for this as it may backfire on you, just send them a nice newsletter that has really good info or a discount going on or informational content that may help them in this type of business... build a relationship first then the sales will come naturally.
First of all, many customers may not click on the link. Secondly, the product may not meet the needs of the customer. Finally, customers may not be in a hurry to buy and need to follow up for a long time.
Some prospective buyers look at the information and they conclude that they might not be the right fit, sometimes they are just shopping around and often times they are not serious enough.
Try to attach your catalog for your next potential clients and see how it works. If nothing happens, write again or just call and ask if they saw your email or not, and what they think. Sometimes they forget and with so many emails, there could be many reasons why they disappear.
How do you know for sure that they did not download your catalog?
You need to rethink your technique because, in your last sentence, you are taking the easy route.
Otoh, maybe they DID download your catalog and found that they already have access to that line of items elsewhere.
