Back cover piece describing a manually-operated crane constructed by a team of college students from multidisciplinary, cross-institutional courses on engineering, timber framing, and engineering history. Translated historic documents, built scale models, and participated in the carpentry for the construction of this replica crane from the 1750s. The project itself was envisioned and overseen by Rick Brown, a professor at MassArt.
