Introduction

About Me

In 1999, Knut founded Moxie AS, an Oslo-based investment group. Over the years, Moxie has grown to a respected, but low key investment group in Oslo; and with Knut’s leadership, it has acquired and established numerous companies in a diverse range of industries. Investments are carried out through equity acquisition and by debt financing. The company, in partnership with other investors, focuses in its long-term investment horizon. Today, Moxie AS, together with its subsidiaries, has an excellent track record.

Knut Harald Nylænde received education in Accounting and Economics from two of the nation’s best institutions: the Norwegian School of Economics (Norges Handelshøyskole) and the BI Norwegian Business School (Handelshøyskolen BI). As a State-authorized Public Accountant (Statsautorisert revisor), Knut previously served as consultant for a number of large businesses. From 1999 to 2004, he was an Expert Lay Judge in the District Court of Oslo.

Outside the professional realm, Knut enjoys water activities like diving, swimming, and fishing. Very few people know that Knut was also a chess champion in his younger years.

Business Description

The Moxie Group invests in diversified portfolios of businesses. The engagements are completed through the parent company and its subsidiaries and associated companies. Investments and business developments are made in a broad spectre of industries, including company funds in securities, technology, trade, commerce and consulting services as well as in real estate. Moreover, Moxie AS has acquired substantial ownerships in entities focusing on research and development (R&D).

Investments are carried out through equity acquisition and by debt financing. Typical targets for investments are start-ups, angel and venture companies in addition to restructuring projects. Moxie has a long-term investment horizon.

Moxie AS and its subsidiaries and associated companies have continued to grow over the last years and have acquired and established numerous companies. Realised capital gains are continuously being re-invested in both existing and new businesses. Furthermore, the Moxie Group focuses on passive investments, usually in association with other investors and partners who are more actively involved in the development of the projects in question.

Moxie is a private investment and advisory company located in Oslo, Norway. Its investments are generally divided into two categories: (1) small growth companies with an edge in R&D and innovation and (2) intuitive investments or special situation investments that are varied and also include investments in real estate.

The special situation investments could be both long term and short term. The core investments in start-ups and growth companies are always planned to be long term investments and are regularly combined with assisting the company in its business development.

Moxie was founded in 1999 by Knut H. Nylænde. He is the owner and CEO of the company.
