Profile Questions

What do you like most about your profession?

One of the aspects I enjoy about being an OBM/VA is building a business based on the development of a collaborative relationship with my clients. In getting to know my clients and their businesses, I have the opportunity to end each business day knowing I brought value into my life and into the lives of others. One of the absolute greatest benefits of owning True North Business Services is I have the opportunity to provide each client the time needed to build his or her business. With my assistance, administrative tasks no longer anchor the client down. The client has the time now to concentrate on his or her core strengths, which brings in the revenue. The client leaves the administrative tasks to TNBM to handle!

What questions do clients most commonly ask you? How do you respond?

Most people want to know what a Virtual Assistant does, and how I work with my clients. In response to the first half of the question, the list is really endless. Each VA specializes in the area in which s/he is most proficient - for me, that's technical support and creative services. For example, I design websites and email templates, and I'll also help with systemitizing your workflows. There are a lot of tools out there to automate many of the things that you do on a daily basis, and when you implement them you can be infinitely more productive. Other Virtual Assistant services may bang out your tasks for you, but I offer much more. The True North client relationship is based upon mutual trust and respect, and a commitment to the success of the partnership. As such, I strive to be a partner and strategic advisory to my clients, going well beyond simply managing your task list.

Virtual Assistant at True North Business Management

September 2011 - Present
As an Executive Assistant in corporate America for nearly 20 years, I’ve helped executives and entrepreneurs get organized and stay productive. Because I believe that all companies -- regardless of size and budget -- can benefit from the expertise of a skilled administrative, technical and creative support professional, I founded True North Business Management.

Services are offered virtually and by retainer, so you pay only for time worked -- saving money on hiring full-time employees, and the hassle of bringing unqualified temps up to speed.

As an entrepreneur, you’re likely taking care of all aspects of your business: billing to accounting to scheduling to marketing. What percentage of time are you actually actively growing your business? Wouldn’t you like to spend more of your time and energy doing the work you love?

Some of the services I provide include:
• WordPress programming and support
• Newsletter campaigns and list management
• Setting up client scheduling systems
• Planning and logistics for meetings, events, and conferences

I welcome the opportunity to speak with you about how a virtual assistant can support your growing business.
