He co-hosts a weekly internet radio/video simulcast, ‘The Bottled Business Sense Show’ and is an accomplished writer for many business websites and online publications. He’s been featured in the Wall Street Journal, OC Talk Radio’s Smart Money and a variety of other business based radio programs.

After a stellar 30 year career in the consumer products manufacturing industry, Steve founded GrowthSource Coaching, a coaching and advisory services business built around his life-long passion for helping business leaders become the best they can be.

Our business building methods and leardership practices have been honed over 30 years of filed tested experience. We've worked through all the trends and learned which techniques have stood the test of time and which ones faded away. This insight has helped our clients avoid the mistakes made by many business professionals who insist on going it alone.

What do you like most about your profession?

I like helping business professionals push through their limitations and begin doing the things that lead to personal growth and financial suyccess. When a business owner of company executive realizes what's been holding them back and they start taking full control of their development, their business responds in ways they are amazed at.

What questions do clients most commonly ask you? How do you respond?

Q- How do I know I need a coach? A- If you feel stuck or are unsure about how to overcome the challenges before you, talking with a business or executive coach is a good first step. What you learn from this conversation will tell you whether or not coaching is right for you. Q- How do I select the right coach? A- Coaching is a very personalized relationship between you and the coach. You should understand how they work, who they have worked with, what their track record is like and what their assessment of your situation is. This conversation will confirm or dismiss them as the right choice for you. Q- How long does it take to get results? A- That depends on how motivated you are for change. Since you will be doing most of the work and experiencing the transformation that follows, your dedication and effort to working through your challenges will determine how long it takes to get the results you want.

Describe a recent client engagement or project.

I am working with a local publishing company and am coaching several company executives on ways to work more effectively, deal more proactively with issues and be able to handle the press more confidently. The publisher has gone from being unsure of the choice to join the company was a good one to confidently running all aspects of the company. In 2014, they had their best revenue year ever. The controller went from being stressed out about all the issues with client payments and unhaapy sales reps lined up outside her door to reducing AR and keeping collectable current each month. In 2014, they exceeded their profile expectations.

What are 3 attributes you need to be successful in your industry?

You need to have a well established base of experience in the field you provide coaching for. You need to be able to gain confidence and trust quickly in order to get to the real issues affecting your clients. You need to be firm but fair in your coaching approach. People want to be held accountable but not mistreated in the process.

What are the most important things to consider when hiring a service provider in your field?

Do they have well documented experience. Have they been in business long enough to demonstrate credibility. Can you find them in a number of areas that allows you to check on them before deciding to hire them. Do you have a clear idea of what you want from the coaching expierence and are you prepared to stay on track long enough to see the results you want.

How are you different than others in your profession?

I have a demonstrated background in building and running businesses of many types and sizes. I also have a long list of businesses I have helped. My specialties are helping business owners with developing winning business mindsets, harnessing better management techniques and creating marekting strategies that generate revenue from ideal clients. For executives, my specialties include leadership development, decision making and delegating, and team building practices.

How do you typically handle disagreements with clients?

It's my job to get clients to question their thoughts and behaviors in order to seek better solutions. If they disagree, that's good becasue it tells me they are thinking about the options they have and the outcomes from each. Ultimately, the decision is theirs as to what course of action they chosse; even the decision to continue having me coach them.

Describe your proudest professional accomplishment.

Taking my own business from start up in a very competitive industry and making it a solid success.
