Tactics for Driving Facebook Engagement
Sometimes, it can feel like your following count is not much more than a number, but don't fret! There are plenty of tactics that will give your followers a jolt awake.
Some ideas to try immediately:
- Think about being a specialist, not a generalist. When crafting your posts, try to go an inch wide, and a mile deep. For example, if you own an antique furniture store, share some facts about a particular style of design, or share the story behind a piece that's for sale. Become an antiques expert and educate, instead of just trying to sell.
- Sign off with your first name. Being personable in your posts reminds your fans that there's a person behind the computer.
- Consider posting less content. Though it may seem counterintuitive, posting less can actually increase your reach on Facebook. That means that more people are likely to see your content, and therefore, more likely to engage with it. It's all about quality, not quantity.
- Dive into those Insights. Pay attention to the free Insights on your page—they are there to help! Look at which posts of yours have performed best in the past, and analyze what worked about them. Test various elements again and again!
Good luck, and happy posting! See you next week.
