Conference Calling Services
AT Conference offers both reservationless and operated-assisted conference calling services. The reservationless service allows you to host conference calls at any time. They can be scheduled in advanced or held spontaneously. The operated-assisted service can be used when more professional and formal calls are held, such as for an investor meeting. These calls are planned in advance. Here is more information about each type of service.
Reservationless Conference Calls
Reservationless conference calls can be made 24/7 without any advanced notice for calls with fewer than 125 participants. AT Conference needs at least 24-hours' notice for calls with more than 125 callers. To use the service, you simply dial either the local or toll-free number provided to you and then enter your host code followed by the # sign. Participants dial the same number, but then enter the participants code, followed by the # sign.
During the call, the host can control the meeting from their phone's keypad. When you press a number followed by the * sign, you can control the ability to lock and unlock the conference, mute participants, obtain a head count, hear a roll call, start and stop call recordings and end the conference and drop all lines.
All calls can be recorded and played back at a later date. You can receive a hard copy of the recording by CD or download. You can also have your meeting transcribed and emailed to you.
AT Conference's reservationless service includes a dial out option to bring attendees into a meeting after it has started. While you must contact support to enable this feature, once enabled, it will be available for all future conference calls. If you need help during a reservationless call, you can press *0 and an operator will be available to help you.
After each call you receive a call summary report that provides details on the time and date of the call, who participated, the number of lines used, the minutes that each participant was on the call, the total call minutes and the total cost of the conference.
AT Conference integrates with Microsoft Outlook, making it simple to send out meeting invitations. When using the integration, all of your conference room details, such as dial in number and access code are prepopulated in the invitation. All you need to do is add a personalized message, if necessary.
The service also features an online portal, which can be used by administrators to manage and control their invoices/payment, account info, add/delete users, access recordings, and generate real-time reports of call usage and account activity.
Operator-Assisted Conference Calls
The operator-assisted service provides you with an AT Conference representative who helps you plan the meeting in advance, manage the meeting while it is ongoing and summarizes it after it is completed.
There is no limit to the number of callers you can have on an AT Conference operator-assisted call. You can have as many participants as you make reservations for. Please note, however, there is an additional charge if you have 20 percent more or 20 percent less callers than you reserved space for.
The first step is to reserve your operator-assisted call using the online reservation system. Calls can be hosted between 7:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. (ET). An AT Conference representative will then contact you to confirm your conference details. They will also help you customize your conference call to best fit your needs.
On the day of the conference, the speakers will call into the conference 15 minutes early and will be placed in a sub-conference room to go over any last-minute details. When attendees start calling in, the operator can gather three pieces of personal information from each person. This can include name, company, title, phone number, address or department.
When the conference starts, the call will be automatically in a presentation mode. With this set-up, all of the participants will be muted, except for the speaker. If you want to hold a question and answer session, the operator can facilitate that. They will inform the callers how to ask questions. They will then announce each person's name and open his or her line to ask their question.
When the call is complete, the operator will provide you the list of those who attended and, if requested, a recording and transcription of the conference.
Pricing and Terms
With AT Conference, you only pay for the minutes you use. For the reservationless service, it costs 1.5 cents per minute, per caller for a local dial-in number. It costs 3.9 cents per minute, per caller for a toll-free number. So, for a 30-minute meeting with 8 participants, it would cost $3.60 for a call using the local dial-in number and $9.36 for a call using the toll-free number. AT Conference can provide customized pricing for businesses that require more than 5,000 minutes per month.
The scheduled, operator-assisted calls cost between 18 and 29 cents per minute, per call. Rates vary based on the specific types of services you want your operator to perform. All operator-assisted calls are subject to a 20 percent buffer policy. With this, there is an additional charge if the number of participants is 20 percent more or 20 percent less than the number of attendees you reserved.
There are no contracts with AT Conference. However, a cancellation charge will be incurred if you cancel an operator-assisted call with less than 24 hours' notice. AT Conference offers a seven-day free trial of its reservationless service.
There are several other factors that make AT Conference a suitbale conference calling service.
- AT Conference offers a mobile app for iOS and Android devices. From the app you can make one-click conference calls.
- The service allows you to easily host conferences with participants who are located in countries outside of the U.S. The service offers toll-free dial-in numbers in more than 50 countries around the world.
- AT Conference also offers web conferencing services. If you are hosting a web conference you can upload documents before the meeting and share them in real time during the conference. You can also share your screen.
- This company offers telephone, email and live chat support. You can also find a variety of online resources, including user guides, keypad command shortcuts, video tutorials and FAQs on the company's website.
One downside with AT Conference is that monthly, unlimited plans aren't an option. Some of the other services we looked into offered the option of paying a flat monthly fee that gave you the freedom to host as many conference calls, for as long as you wanted, each month.
We were also disappointed to see that AT Conference isn't an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau. However, the company does have an A+ rating and there haven't been any complaints filed against the company in the past three years.
