Bindo is a New York-based POS company that serves small businesses in over 60 countries. It's a cloud-based system designed for use with iPads and iPhones. This POS software can be used by many different types of business, including retailers, counter-serve and full-service restaurants, and service-based businesses such as spas and salons. Bindo has several innovative features, such as its inventory database and its Identity Safeguard technology. However, it requires you to sign a contract with a minimum term of 12 months, and depending on the agreement, it may include an early termination fee.

This POS systems provider lacks pricing transparency; it doesn't post its software subscription plans, hardware pricing or credit card processing rates on its website, which can be frustrating for merchants who want at least a ballpark estimate of what they can expect to spend before getting on the phone with a sales agent. Its software subscription starts at $59 per month, and if you choose to use Bindo as your payment processor, it charges a flat rate of 2.49% of each sale along with a $0.15 per-transaction fee.

Although Bindo offers payment processing, it's compatible with many companies, including Chase, First Data, TSYS and Vantiv. It also works with third-party POS hardware, which may save you money if you already own POS equipment. If you choose to purchase POS hardware from Bindo, it's "unlocked," which means that you may be able to continue using it should you switch POS solutions later.

Most POS systems provide software subscriptions on a month-to-month basis; Bindo is one of the few companies that requires you to sign a contract. The minimum contract term is 12 months, and depending on the agreement, the contract may include an early termination fee, which is also rare among the POS systems we reviewed.

Bindo has all of the feature sets we looked for in POS solutions. Its inventory management tools support over 100,000 items, include vendor management and allow you to create purchase orders. You can add employees to Bindo, and set permissions to control which tasks they can perform and what information they can access. It has a built-in time clock that includes face-capture technology called Identity Safeguard, which takes a picture of your employees when they check in and out of the system. This can be a helpful feature to prevent employees from clocking in and out for their co-workers.

The dashboard displays sales reports as interactive charts and graphs, and you can access it from any device. If you already have an online store, you can connect it to Bindo by adding a line of code. You can also set up an online store using Bindo Storefront. Bindo integrates with eCommerce platforms Shopify and WooCommerce.

With a Bindo POS system, you can accept EMV chip cards and NFC-powered mobile wallets such as Android Pay and Apple Pay. Your customers can use gift cards as payment, and you can also accept orders online for in-store pickup.

You can reach customer support via phone and email 24/7. Live chat is also available on the company's website. If you purchase your equipment from Bindo and need a replacement part, the company can ship it to you overnight. Migration and setup services are available to help you set up the system or import your data into Bindo.

Bindo is a great cloud-based POS system for iPad and iPhone. Its full feature list includes built-in tools, such as loyalty and time tracking, that some other POS solutions only offer at an additional cost. However, it isn't transparent with its pricing and requires you to sign a contract that locks you into the service for at least a year, with the possibility of an early termination fee if you decide to close your account before your term expires.
