If you're looking to acquire more reviews of your business, you should choose a review management service that will give you the most options for reaching your customers. BirdEye satisfies this need by encouraging customers to leave reviews in a variety of ways, including via text message, email, Facebook plugins, mobile kiosks inside your business and on your website. Having many ways to reach out to customers helps you garner more reviews.

In addition, look for a service that allows you to easily manage your reviews. The review management software you use should automatically alert you about new reviews, give you one central location to read those reviews and provide you with options for responding to them. The online review management platform fulfills all of these needs. BirdEye also offers a variety of valuable features and actionable insights, including detailed analytics on your reviews, social network monitoring options and the ability to ensure all of your online business listings are up to date.

BirdEye Pricing and Plans

BirdEye provides customized pricing for its services. There are no set packages or service plans. Instead, the company works with each customer to determine what their needs are and which parts of the platform they'll need to achieve their goals.

The BirdEye representatives we spoke with said the platform can be customized with nearly 20 features and tools. Another factor in pricing is a business's number of locations; the more locations, the higher the costs.

Though the BirdEye representative we spoke with didn't provide us with specifics, they said pricing generally starts at about $250 per month for a business with one location. If you're interested in this service, we encourage you to contact the company to get a customized quote.

BirdEye requires a yearly commitment for access to the services, via an annual software licensing agreement. However, you can pay monthly for the duration of your agreement.

BirdEye Review Management Features

BirdEye is a complete review management platform with all of the tools you need to acquire and manage your online reviews. The service handles a wide range of tasks, including the following:

  • Review acquisition. The platform gives you numerous ways to request reviews from your customers. You can contact them via text message, email, Facebook, a form on your website, an in-store mobile kiosk, a BirdEye microsite or the BirdEye mobile app. The software lets you customize the messages you send on each platform to help garner the best response. You can also set when you want your customers to be contacted. That could be immediately after a sale is made, several days later or even a few months down the road. The platform also integrates with hundreds of apps and programs, making it even easier to access your customer databases to reach out for reviews.

  • Review monitoring. In addition to helping you acquire reviews, the BirdEye platform makes it simple to monitor and track all of your reviews, regardless of the website they're posted on. The service sends you a text or email notification each time a new review is posted. When searching through your reviews, you can filter them in various ways, allowing you to quickly find the most important ones.

  • Review management. You can also reply to your reviews straight from the BirdEye platform, allowing you to quickly respond to any negative feedback. To make the response process even easier, the system allows you to create template responses. You can create set responses to say thank you for a positive review or to apologize to a negative one. You can then automate the process based on the rules you set up; for example, you can send a thank-you note when a 5-star review comes in.

  • Review marketing. BirdEye makes it easy to promote your positive reviews across your social networks, such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as on your website. The company embeds data from your reviews into your website's code so that your top ratings and feedback appear in search results. BirdEye can build a microsite for all of your reviews, which can help boost your overall online reputation.

BirdEye lets you manage all of your online business listings and gives you the option to allow customers to start a text message chat with your business. You can also build and send out surveys to your customers, as well as create a ticketing system for customers who are having problems with your product or service.

Pros of Using BirdEye

From a review-generation point of view, one of the biggest benefits of using BirdEye is the numerous ways to acquire reviews. Being able to reach out to customers via text messages, email, Facebook and your website increases your chances of landing more reviews.

Another benefit of BirdEye is the treasure trove of data it provides businesses. The dashboard gives you an easy-to-understand overview of what your customers are saying about you across all channels. BirdEye's system reviews all of the information to provide you with greater insight into the overarching sentiments, both good and bad. The data allows you to discover trends about your business's strengths and weaknesses.

The BirdEye mobile app, which is available for iOS and Android devices, is another great perk. From the app, you can collect new reviews, track customer feedback, respond to reviews, promote positive reviews and monitor the analytics surrounding your reviews. Quick attention to positive and negative reviews can boost customer satisfaction and increase revenue.

Cons of Using BirdEye

One negative of BirdEye is that its website doesn't list pricing; you have to contact the company directly. Although we understand why the company does this, some businesses would like to get an idea of whether the service would fit into their budget before interacting with the company.

BirdEye also has limitations. It's primarily a review acquisition and management platform, not a full-service reputation management company. If you're seeking crisis management, content creation, public relations or social media account creation, you may need to look for other options. However, if you just want a service to help you acquire and manage reviews, BirdEye is the best choice.

BirdEye Customer Service

BirdEye's website has a wealth of information to help new and existing users learn about its platform. It features a wide range of useful articles on how to use the review software, as well as answers to questions on topics such as how to get started with the service, how to customize your review requests and how to understand some of the analytics. All customers receive a dedicated support representative who serves as their go-to-person for any questions or concerns they have. It's nice to know there is someone you can turn to for help. If you do not yet have an account manager and need to contact customer support, you can reach BirdEye via phone, email or live chat.

When we contacted the company by phone, posing as a business representative interested in the service, we experienced mixed results. We did not receive immediate assistance, which was a bit frustrating. However, we also used the company's online chat tool and were very pleased with the responses we got there. All of our questions were answered quickly and thoroughly. Regardless of the method we used, the representatives were courteous and did not push us to make a sale; instead, they simply encouraged us to reach back out with any additional questions.

We were pleased to see that BirdEye is an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating. However, over the past three years, there have been 19 complaints filed against the company.
