Core Security's offering of network services is for companies concerned that their network isn't as secure as it should be but aren't sure where to start. In addition to a robust risk assessment service, Core Security provides an advanced threat detection system backed by big data and threat intelligence to counter malware and more advanced threats. This service, called Core Network Insight, springs into action automatically when it detects patterns indicative of a potential threat to your network.

Features

Vulnerability Assessment

Working with Core Security entails putting your network to the test, including any measures and other security services you're implemented. Core conducts five tests on your network, analyzing applications, security awareness, the likelihood of an attack, cloud infrastructure and networked device security.

Each vulnerability test provides you with a detailed analysis. Penetration tests are based on real-world attacks commonly used by hackers and demonstrate the path of an attack to infiltrate your network. Core Security's analysis explains the vulnerable parts of your network and recommends, in order of priority, what you need to change to bolster your network. Using this service, you can identify inefficiencies in your network, allowing you to reconfigure different points of access to thwart potential attack vectors.

Network Insight

Core Security can further supplement your network security with its own version of threat detection and response. Network Insight analyzes traffic and behavior between your network and the internet (without interfering with its flow) to determine potential threats and vulnerabilities. Core's threat intelligence is backed by a large data network to recognize inconsistent patterns and stop zero-day attacks from stealing data or setting up ransomware.

This system uses a secondary case analyzer to verify evidence of a threat. Rather than sending you an alert for suspicious activity, Core Security presents the evidence so you can make a determination. You can elect to create an automated response to identified threats so they can be immediately quarantined.

Ease of Use

With Core Security, there's very little you have to do besides sign up with the service and let them conduct their tests. How you and your IT department respond to the vulnerability results is ultimately up to you.

Core's Network Insights is an easy-to-deploy service, requiring a hardware device to be installed on-site. The interface is cloud-based, which can be accessed from any browser. From the dashboard, you can see how many reported cases there are and a list of infected endpoints, with a rating describing the severity of the threat.

Customer Service

Core Security's consultants work closely with you and your IT staff to efficiently run their assessment tests.

Core Security provides support through a customer portal on their website where you can log in and submit tech-support tickets. Core also provides online training courses on how to maximize its services as well as a variety of cybersecurity topics.
