Of the top dropshipper companies we reviewed, Dropship Direct has the lowest costs. It doesn't require any monthly or yearly membership costs, which is standard among other dropshippers.
Dropship Direct has products in categories such as electronics, automotive, apparel and home goods. This dropship service gets products from around 100 suppliers. It has more than 120,000 products, which you can view for free on its website. While this isn't as large a product selection as other dropshippers we reviewed, it still has a wide variety of products.
Dropship Direct provides multiple options to notify you about the status of your products. You can add products to custom feeds and receive notifications about changes in their status. Dropship Direct provides a hot 100 report that is updated daily and highlights the top-selling products. There is also a change log you can subscribe to that is specific to the products you follow.
With its PushList data feed technology, Dropship Direct has some of the best back-end management of any of the dropshippers we reviewed. Using PushList, you can customize data feeds or use preconfigured feeds for more than 20 supported marketplaces. The data feeds include all the information necessary to add products to the marketplace or website you plan to use to sell the products. Exports generated through PushList include product images and specs, though in some cases you may need to provide the descriptions for the products.
Dropship Direct rated the best in terms of the costs and fees associated with it. Unlike other services we reviewed, it does not charge a monthly or yearly subscription fee. This service is free to sign up for. Its only charges are a $9.97 fee to use its PushList technology. That fee is waived if you meet certain sales thresholds.
If you are based in the United States, you will need an Employer Identification Number, or EIN, to sign up. EINs are Social Security numbers for businesses and can be obtained through the IRS.
Dropship Direct has no dropship fees but does have a 15 percent restocking fee. While the dropshipper manages the shipping and deals with the returns, you will still be responsible for customer service.
Dropship Direct aggregates products from its suppliers. It handles the relationships with suppliers so you don't need to contact them directly. When a customer orders from you, you'll need to log in to your Dropship Direct account and place the order through the site. You can also email orders. This is important, because you'll need to be aware of this step if you use Dropship Direct.
The shipping speeds vary depending on the supplier. Around half of the products use flat-rate shipping while others use UPS rates. There are also many products that offer free shipping.
Another feature Dropship Direct has that we liked is its ability to customize your packing slip with your business's branding. Dropship companies will blind ship your products, which means it doesn't include any information about the warehouse or supplier on the packing slip. Customizing your packing slip gives you the opportunity to better develop your brand.
Email and phone are the most reliable ways to get customer service from Dropship Direct. We contacted representatives both ways, and they were helpful and responsive. Customer service is based in Oregon (Pacific Time), so you may want to keep that in mind when trying to call. The phone hours are 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Dropship Direct has helpful resources on its website if you have questions about the service or about dropshipping in general. There are also a few tutorials that help teach you how to use Dropship Direct and PushList.
Dropship Direct stands apart from the other services we reviewed in that it doesn't charge any fees to sign up. This dropshipper keeps you in the know about the latest trends and allows you to customize watch lists for the products your customers want. Its PushList data feed makes it easy to export products to whatever platform you choose to sell from.
