Gazelle is an Android point-of-sale system designed for small and midsized retail businesses. There's no contract requirement, and it provides its cloud-based software on a monthly basis, so you can cancel at any time without incurring a cancellation fee. If you prefer desktop-based software, you can purchase a software license instead of subscribing to a cloud-based plan.

The Best Android POS Systems of 2019

The Verdict

Gazelle is good for retailers that need a basic, inexpensive Android POS system. However, its reporting options aren't as robust as many of its competitors', and it lacks phone support.

The company posts its pricing online. There are four plans available for its cloud-based POS software, with prices ranging from $18 to $28 per month. All plans support an unlimited number of tablets and products and can be used for businesses with multiple locations. The Plus plan costs $18 per month and lacks staff and customer features. The Staff and CRM plans cost $24 per month and include either staff or customer features. The Pro plan costs $28 per month and includes both of these feature sets.

You can use Gazelle alongside the payment processing service of your choice. If you want your payments to integrate with this Android POS system, you can use Authorize.net for card-present processing or PayPal for your online store.

There's no POS hardware purchase requirement with Gazelle, so you can purchase compatible equipment from the vendor of your choice. If you already own POS hardware, you may be able to continue use it. You can find compatibility guidelines on the company's website.

Gazelle has most of the management features we looked for in our review, but it doesn't have as many reporting options as some of its competitors. For example, it doesn't have an hourly sales report that could assist you with staff scheduling, and although it has a sales report that you can use to see your best- and worst-selling products, it doesn't show you which ones are the most and least profitable. You can export report data in CSV, Excel and PDF formats.

This Android POS system includes multiple inventory management tools. You can use it to organize your items, assign variations such as size and color, and track inventory. It reports low-stock items, and you can create purchase orders through the system.

If you need to contact the company, you can submit a help ticket for technical support or send an email. Unlike with higher-ranked services, no phone support is available.

Gazelle is one of the most affordable Android POS systems we reviewed. There's no contact requirement, and you can purchase third-party hardware and use it alongside the payment processing service of your choice, though integrated processing options are limited. However, it's more basic than the best systems we reviewed, with fewer reporting options and customer support services.
