Intermedia Unite is offered in two service plans that vary by price, video conferencing capabilities and file storage space. All of the plans include more than 90 calling features, access to the mobile and desktop apps, virtual voicemail and transcriptions, team chat and messaging, Find Me/Follow Me, and unlimited calling.

If your business has more than 50 users, you can contact Intermedia directly for a customized price quote.

Intermedia offers useful add-ons at an extra cost. Among these are:

  • Fax lines: $14.99 per month
  • SmartFax Pro: $3.99 per month
  • Lobby phone: $12.99 per month
  • Exchange email: $7.99 per month

There are also added costs for additional phone numbers and toll-free numbers.

Ease of Use and Features

Intermedia Unite is a cloud-based unified communications and collaboration service that combines a PBX phone system, video conferencing, chat, screen sharing and file management into one platform. Since the platform is cloud-based, there is no special equipment required.

In terms of bandwidth, Intermedia recommends a minimum connection speed of between 90 and 156Kbps per device. This includes phones, computers, fax adapters, etc.

Intermedia's onboarding team will help with the setup process. All users are sent preconfigured phones that, once plugged into an internet connection, are ready to use.

Once it's up and running, the system is managed completely online. You can order additional service and manage your employee phone, data backup and video conferencing services through a single online interface. Specifically, administrators can enable and disable user permissions; add users, user phones, and phone numbers; set up auto attendants; and create hunt groups.

All of Intermedia's phones come preconfigured so they can be used anywhere that has a broadband network connection, both inside and outside the office. The remote desk phones work exactly the same way as they do in the office, with access to all the same features and functionality as everyone else in the company.

Intermedia Unite provides all the features businesses are looking for in a unified communications system. The service includes voicemail with transcription, auto attendants, caller ID, custom hold music and greeting, direct inbound dialing, call flip, a conference bridge, hunt groups, email and SMS notifications, call presence, call recording, call history, call hold, and extension dialing.

Additionally, there are a number of collaboration tools, such as video conferencing with screen sharing. There are also team messaging and chat tools and file sharing options.

The Intermedia mobile app extends your business phone service to your mobile device. From the app, users can place and receive calls from their business line, see who's available, chat with colleagues and manage voicemail.

With the Intermedia desktop app, users can tap into a softphone, as well as see who is available, chat with colleagues, share screens, start video calls and share files.

Intermedia provides all users with a financially backed 99.999% guaranteed uptime. This means that if service is down for more than 6 minutes in a year, businesses are compensated for the added downtime.

Video Conferencing

In addition to its unified communication system, Intermedia offers a stand-alone video conferencing service: Intermedia AnyMeeting. The service lets you host video meetings with up to 200 participants at a time. It also has a number of valuable features, including HD video, unlimited meetings, meeting locks, screen sharing and meeting chat.

AnyMeeting is available in two service plans. Both plans allow for VoIP or PSTN audio calling, unlimited meetings, custom meeting URLs, recurring meetings, and instant and scheduled calls.

Here is a breakdown on each pricing plan:

Lite

  • Cost: $9.99 per user, per month
  • Web attendees: 10
  • Web and phone attendees: 200
  • HD participants: 10
  • Collaboration tools: Screen sharing and meeting chat

Pro

  • Cost: $12.99 per user, per month
  • Web attendees: 30
  • Web and phone attendees: 200
  • HD participants: 12
  • Collaboration tools: Everything in the Lite plan, plus remote control, recording, unlimited recording cloud storage, meeting notes, custom branding, international dial-in numbers and Zapier integrations with more than 1,000 business apps.

Conference Calling

Intermedia Unite has a conference calling service built into its phone system. With the conference bridge feature, which is included at no extra charge, each employee has the ability to hold their own conference call with up to 200 callers.

If your company hosts conference calls with more people than that, you will need to use a conference calling service. These services allow hundreds, sometimes thousands, of people on each call. You can find more information on these services on our conference call services best picks page.

Customer Service

Intermedia provides all users with J.D. Power-certified 24/7 customer support. Support technicians can be contacted by phone and chat. Unlike other providers, Intermedia doesn't enforce a threshold for phone support. Administrators can call the company for help with any issue.

In addition to the personal support you can receive, the Intermedia website is filled with a large selection of helpful materials, including user guides, data sheets and white papers.
