TrackSmart offers time-clock, attendance and employee scheduling software for small businesses. The work schedule maker comes in multiple plans so that you can choose the one that fits your business, but all plans have the same basic features, including employee access, mobile alerts, shift swapping and reports.
While TrackSmart is a good employee schedule maker, it's not as easy to use from the administrator side as some of the others in our review. However, it is easy to set up multiple locations and their individual schedules. The tools are basic and not hard to get the hang of, but they lack drag-and-drop capability. The software does not integrate with QuickBooks or ADP, so you may have to manually transfer data.
While the administrator side of this software was more difficult than others, the software available for employees is some of the easiest to use in our review. Employees can view schedules and swap shifts. They can pick up extra shifts if you set them as open and set up their availability for shifts. Our testers had no problems viewing current and future schedules, setting up profiles, requesting time off, or clocking in. The only low mark is the messaging capability. The software can send email reminders and email alerts, but not text alerts, although you can send text messages directly to an employee and ask them to contact you through the program. This is not the software to consider if you want to remind employees about schedules or provide other notifications via texting, as the mobile features are somewhat sparse.
TrackSmart offers 11 different reports, such as time-off summaries, time sheets and labor costs. This is about an average variety of reports and should give you the most important statistics you need to effectively plan your manpower needs.
You can reach TrackSmart's customer support over the phone or through email. You can learn more about the program’s features on its knowledgebase or FAQs page. TrackSmart also offers tutorials to help you learn the functions.
TrackSmart is solid employee scheduling software. It has the basic scheduling features you need for creating schedules for one or more locations, allowing employees to view and swap shifts, and seeing reports on attendance and labor costs. While its mobile functions are lacking and it does not integrate with common employee and bookkeeping programs, it’s still worth considering for small businesses.
