TrustFax provides online fax transmissions with a monthly or annual plan. It includes all fundamental features for faxing from computers, such as digital signatures, a fax number, email faxing and international faxing. However, it's short on advanced features, and its single plan makes it unsuitable for businesses that send and receive a high volume of faxes.
You can pay for plans month to month or for an entire year upfront at a discounted rate. Most fax software offers a range of plans, including high-volume plans, but TrustFax caters to small businesses that send faxes infrequently, offering only one plan. If you pay monthly instead of annually, the service is $12.99 a month. The package allots 300 pages that you can either send or receive via fax. If you go over this allotment, each additional page will cost you 10 cents each.
This fax software provides local and toll-free fax numbers that do not require a traditional phone line. It sends transmissions using the internet rather than phone lines, and it does not have hardware requirements other than internet access. Using TrustFax, you can send faxes to more than 200 international locations. TrustFax does not charge to set up or activate new accounts.
TrustFax gives you an online account you can use to access your faxes from anywhere, including from a mobile device. TrustFax doesn't provide free apps, but you can still use your phone to send and receive faxes, though this is not as user friendly as software that offers iPhone and Android apps. You can send faxes to your email inbox from the online control panel and use your email account to send a fax or receive and send faxes. You can manage all your faxes online, but TrustFax only provides free fax storage for 30 days. The best services in our review do not have this short a time limit, if any, on storage.
While TrustFax has the basic features, it's missing some of what we looked for in the best fax software. Namely, you cannot send faxes to multiple recipients at once, there's no email integration with Outlook, and you cannot schedule faxes to be delivered in the future.
If you have problems while using this software, you can reach out to customer support via telephone or email. However, live chat is not available. You may be able to find some answers to your questions on the FAQs page of TrustFax's website.
TrustFax does not provide a variety of software plans to accommodate various business sizes and faxing volume need, but it can support small businesses that operate from multiple locations. It provides low rates for when you need to fax to locations outside of the U.S. Upfront costs are low, and TrustFax provides fax numbers, making it an attractive option if you need an affordable fax number immediately. It is missing some convenient features of the best fax software, however.
