Conference Calling Services
With Zip Conferencing, you have the choice of reservationless or operator-assisted conference call services. Reservationless gives you the freedom to host conference calls at any time, 24/7. You can schedule them in advance or host impromptu calls when needed. Operator-assisted services provide you with a more personal touch for your calls. With this option, you work with a Zip Conferencing operator who helps you with all the planning and facilitating of the call. They provide services before, during and after the meeting. This type of service used when a more professional meeting is being held that require formal greetings, question and answer session and call transcriptions. Here is more information about each type of service.
Reservationless Conference Calls
The reservationless service allows you to schedule and host a meeting at any time. With this option, you can host conference calls with up to 300 participants. To host a call, all you need to do is provide those you want to meet with your dial-in number and access code.
The service is completely customizable. You can decide if you want entry tones when callers enter the meeting room, whether participants should listen to music before the host enters the call and whether you want callers to hear a customized greeting each time they dial in. All of this can be controlled from your online account. The online account also provides you with daily usage reports so you can ensure no one is making calls that shouldn't be.
The call's host has a number of different ways they can take control of the meeting. The host control's allow them to mute participants, adjust the volume of the call, start a recording of the meeting, create a customized greeting, conduct a roll call to see who is on the call and add security features to ensure only those who are supposed to be on the call are.
Zip Conferencing also features multiple presenter controls so that no one person has to take charge and control the meeting the entire time. Instead, the responsibility can be passed from one attendee to another.
While it is an extra charge, you can record any of your meetings. You then have the option of dialing in and listening to the call or obtaining a hard copy of the recording on a CD or download.
Operator-Assisted Conference Calls
The operator-assisted option allows you to work with a Zip Conferencing representative to ensure the call is planned appropriately and run smoothly. They work with you before, during and after the call. The operator-assisted calls can support up to 3,000 participants.
Before the call, the operator will consult with you about the call, handle the registration of participants, send out invitations, and verify who will be attending. During the call, the operator can handle all of the call's controls, manage question and answer sessions, conduct polling, dial-out out to participants, record the call and set-up sub-conferences.
There are several other factors that make Zip Conferencing a conference call service worth considering.
- The audio conferencing service is the compatible with the GlobalMeet app. It synchronizes with Zip Conferencing's teleconference service and allows you to join or host a meeting from any device. The app also provides features that allow participants to take notes, brainstorm and draw out plans. The service provides polling, Q&A and chat capabilities. All the features are transferred to participants, and the results are sent to the host in real time.
- You can block specific individuals from joining your calls. This feature is especially valuable if you are discussing sensitive information that you do not want unauthorized ears to hear.
- Zip Conferencing also offers web conferencing services that allow you to conduct meetings from your computer or mobile device. The service allows you to share your screen and files with participants. Zip conferencing offers a 30-day free trial of its web conferencing services.
- This company provides several support resources to ensure you get the most out of its conference call service. Email, telephone and live chat are available. You can also receive support during any of your calls. Just press *0 and an operator will join the call and assist you.
We found several drawbacks to Zip Conferencing. The biggest is that it doesn't offer many of the features some its competitors do, such as integrations with Outlook and Google and a call you option that allows to have the conference call service call you when the meeting is scheduled to start.
Another downside is the extra cost for call recordings. Many of the other services we looked into didn't charge extra for those services.
Additionally, we were disappointed that we couldn't find a record of Zip Conferencing with the Better Business Bureau. We would have liked to know if the company was an accredited member and how many, if any, complaints had been filed against it.
