Zoho is a well-known name in the business products industry, with applications that include CRM tools and chat programs. Its accounting application is called Zoho Books, but it also offers a product called Zoho Invoice, which is similar to accounting software in the fact that it can create and send invoices to clients. Zoho Invoice is geared more toward freelancers, however, and doesn’t offer as many accounting features as Zoho Books.
When you get started in Zoho Books, all you need to do is enter your personal information and some relevant information about your business. The getting started process also provides areas for you to provide specific information about your business that you aren’t required to enter. While you aren’t required to enter this information, it’s easier for you to do so in the beginning so you don’t have to backtrack and enter it later.
Invoicing in Zoho Books is customizable and easy to learn. The interface contains a variety of templates built in, but you can also take the time to add your logo and customize the invoices how you want. You can even use the logo of your payment provider on your invoices, which is a nice addition. After creating invoices, you can send them to your clients via email, save them as PDFs or send them via snail mail. Most companies don’t offer this feature.
If you have inventory or services that you want to track in the system, you can do so under the “Items” tab on the dashboard. Doing this in Zoho Books was much easier when compared to the same process with other small business accounting software. You can also track expenses with ease both on your dashboard and through mobile apps.
As your business starts to grow, your accounting and business needs also grow. With Zoho Books, you have the ability to integrate with over 500 different business applications. Programs like CRM, HR and marketing are all important for larger business models, and Zoho has created these kinds of programs to integrate with each other.
Zoho has a solid support team with minimal wait times in both the phone and email support channels. It also has plenty of continuing business education options and an active user base you can turn to for answers to questions. The only downside to Zoho’s support portfolio is the lack of current video content.
The process of running your books through Zoho Books is easy and pain free. You don’t have to worry about a dashboard that frustrates you, and if you do find problems, you can be fairly certain that you can find an answer. Zoho Books makes a great choice for small businesses.
