GoDaddy Online Store is user-friendly eCommerce software that offers basic features and provides integration with eBay. However, it lacks several of the tools that you find in top eCommerce solutions, and it is not as advanced as other applications.

The Verdict

GoDaddy's eCommerce platform is not as comprehensive as other services, but it still offers a multitude of integrations and an excellent customer checkout experience. It only works with a couple of payment gateways, however, limiting your options.

Although it only offers just over 20 basic templates (unless you wish to purchase one), GoDaddy Online Store offers tools to help you modify the design for your brand. You can add your own logo and images.

GoDaddy Online Store offers most of the features you need to create a pleasant and profitable shopping experience. The software creates a mobile-responsive website for customers on the go. Our testing crew found it relatively easy to set up a store; although, several eCommerce solutions were easier to set up.

With over 40 percent of online shoppers using their smartphones or tablets to make purchases, it’s increasingly important to have an eCommerce website that is mobile friendly. GoDaddy is one of two we tested that earned perfect marks, with easy shopping experiences on multiple mobile devices. However, it only allows for two payment gateways, restricting your choices. If you prefer Square or PayPal, then you’re fine, but more comprehensive credit card processing services do not integrate with GoDaddy.

The GoDaddy eCommerce website builder makes it easy to run your store. It has a POS solution that manages your eBay store as well as your brick-and-mortar store, giving you extra versatility with this software. Not every eCommerce platform has these particular features.

GoDaddy is PCI compliant and backs up information every time you make a change. A shared SSL certificate is available, though if you want a dedicated certificate, you must purchase one separate from your plan. Before doing this, however, keep in mind that in 2018, SSL encryption will no longer be considered PCI compliant.

You can find answers to many questions in the online FAQs. You can also contact live technical support at any time of day via phone and chat.

GoDaddy is a good option for creating a basic online store with a well-established website service. It offers multiple integrations and has an excellent customer portal, particularly for mobile devices. However, the payment gateway options are severely limited.
